Baldy is just hands down my favorite football guy on The Tele
and his breakdowns on X are second only to watching the Rams play..
Got lost down the " Baldys Breakdowns" rabbit hole more than once.

As far as Willie Lampkin, I am pulling for this kid. ESPN, Rams,com have him listed at
5'11" 290lbs. This kid looks really good at times. I think Center is the only position he
could play consistently He plays much better with a guard on each side.

I completely agree - he wasn't opening holes like he was at center.

He does a great job as center assisting the guards in his blocks and also taking out linebackers 1 on 1 on run plays.

He is also extremely capable both as guard and center in his pass protection.

However, he isn't as good in his run blocking abilities as a guard.

I would have to think if a good DC game planned against Lampkin, while playing center, they would overload the middle and make him take on a NT one on one.

At center he is good working off of double teams and then getting to the next level eith his athletic ability. My concern is can he take on a guy like Jalen Carter one in one, then add in a run blitzing LB maybe on top of that.

I remember what Belicheck did to an undersized and aging John Sullivan in the Superbowl. He attacked him with run blitzes and he was just overpowered. I could see Lampkin being a weak link like that just due to his size.

Jalen Carter is a mismatch for every center in this league. Not to mention the interior handling a run blitz on top of that.

True, but a bigger guy has a better shot and just him going against any quality NT would be a concern. DC's would gameplay against his size. Who knows, maybe his stature, getting low, will overcome that.
