I'm trying to enjoy this period where our team who as overcome SO MUCH is in the Super Bowl for the first time in 17 years....and it's like other than watching the press conferences on Periscope and talking to all you fine people... I just can't.

Basically, all the football people are saying that it's a fait d'accompli...done deal. That none of the Rams even deserve to be on the same field, the game is over and they're all going to struggle to fill all this 90 hours of coverage because as Deion put it, "there's nothing to talk about."

Then I just took a deep breath, remembered that Wade Philips is 6-3 against B&B running this defense and that their D struggles to defend both inside runs, especially when we have an outside runner like Gurley.

I was more nervous about the Cowboys game and the Saints game, to be honest.

This isn't a gimme by any stretch, but as someone who sees patterns, this is what I see.

The critical part of the game will be McVay's offense against the Pats D.

I think the Pats can score between 17-24 against us depending on how ball control our O is and if we can get the run game clicking to better control the TOP.

Thing is, we struggled when Kupp went down and it took, really, the addition of CJ Anderson to really get McVay going on adjusting this offense.

This offense, which looks like a prime Mike Shanahan offense, but with better RBs, is very much set up to have success against this Pats D.

I really like this matchup.

Moreover, I really like our front four against that Pats OL. As others have mentioned, we destroy pulling linemen with AD and Fowler being as quick as they are and then putting Suh on the outside to put a ton extra power out there.

So, I'm over that the MSSM (mainstream sports media) isn't giving the Rams a chance.

I also think all those sour grapes billboards up around like
newsEngin.23702546_012319-Super-Bowl-CC1.jpg

are only going to galvanize this team.

It's sad that they are all missing how much of a fairy tale season this is... young HC, vet DC, stars in Hollywood, early success, then mass shooting, wild fires, 2 game slump and then a march to victory...avenging the loss to the Pats 17 years ago to the day AT THE SAME VENUE.

Anyway, from a pattern perspective, especially with how mindful McVay is in studying opposing defenses, I just really like our chances and see us winning a close one.

And I guess I don't need to see GMFB or Undisputed slobbering all over our Rams like they're doing over Brady and Belichick.

Also, notice... prior to Super Bowl 36, NO ONE in the MSM gave the Pats a chance. Even Vegas had the Rams as prohibitive 14 point favorites. While the Rams this time around aren't underdogs to that degree, the mirrors of this game... young QB against a potentially dynastic juggernaut...although not 9/11 in size or scope, tragedies which galvanize the team and community, prohibitive favorite returning to the game, controversial call propels upstart team into the big game...

Yep, I like our Rams in a close one.

It's a "turn the page" game to me. The Pats started their dynasty on our back in SB36. We end it for them here in SB53 and start one of our own.

We made the Super Bowl. None of it is upsetting me. I thought it would be tough for us to beat Dallas. We did. I thought it would be tough for us to beat New Orleans. We did. I think it will be tough for us to beat New England. We'll see what happens. At the end of the day, I'm not going to get worked up until the game starts. I actually love that we're being written off by the media and being told we don't belong. You better bet our guys are hearing that, and they're going to be very motivated.

EDIT: One correction, Mack, we won the Super Bowl in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome (different venue). We lost the Super Bowl to NE in the Superdome in New Orleans.

It does feel like we fans are being robbed of recognition about how great this team is, in the week before the Super Bowl. However, if you remember, the repeated stories of the dominant Rams before Super Bowl 36 was so fun. We all thought it would be a blowout, including Vegas. Now I believe this is where the Cheatriots earned their name, but the crash was so bad after the loss, I didn't watch a replay of ANY of that game until this year. In contrast, the Rams in 1999 were the Cinderfella team. They were too finesse to beat the Titans, but then the actual game was played and how sweet it was....

I watched some of the Chiefs vs Pats game, and I think the Rams can and should win the Super Bowl from what I saw....Tommy perfect, wasn't....The Pats did not have to deal with pressure up the middle like the Rams deliver.

Rams win.

good catch.

I'm over it, also. Doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice to hear nice things about our team after everything that's happened this season.

Was going back through old posts I made and I actually said we'd win the Super Bowl back in April.

This pattern thing is better than I thought.

I might have to start a YouTube channel or something...LOL.

IMO the Rams are better than the Patriots. Rams have more talent with great coaching, chemistry and determination. It will be an epic chess match of the Patriots O against Wade Phillips' D, and Bellichek vs McVay's offense. But I do not believe the Rams will be outcoached.

Our O will roll after having their timing disrupted by the mega noise in NO. Goff and Gurley will step up. Donald, Suh, and Fowler will put pressure on Brady. Talib will keep the secondary on the right page. Zuerlein and Hekker will win the kicking game. With great players bringing it in all three phases Rams will win.

Or the “NFL will steer the narrative toward the Brady-Brees matchup?”

Kidding...;)

Anyway, I agree with you, it should be a close game, hope the Rams come out on top. And soon enough, we’ll all forget whatever happened during the pregame hype...final score is all that matters...

Its depressing as shit to even turn on the TV or radio. Everywhere I turn I hear that the Rams don't belong. No one likes or cares about the Rams, etc. This forum is the only safe haven. Part of wishes the Rams had lost that game in NO and waited til next year to start their dynasty. 20 years after what should have been the beginning of our last one.

I'm loving it. Talking heads will look dumber than usual after the rams win.

@Mackeyser the first mistake you made was listening to Dieon Sanders. He said the same thing about the Cowboys and Saints. “There’s no way the Rams could win this game”

He’s very dismissive of this team. Maybe because he was a Cowboy and Niner. He’s a Jeter and tries to act like an authority. It’s hard to watch his show.

Isn't it amazing. Seventeen years ago they were the underdogs. They had a young QB, and there was no way they were beating the high flying Rams. Now, it's just the opposite.

Yeah, except the Patriots aren’t nearly as good as the GSOT was.

On the conspiracy side of things, maybe Vegas has most of these talking heads picking the Pats so Vegas can make up for all that money they lost that week they got killed.

Honestly, I try to avoid watching most of the media leading up to the game. I will hear enough of it during the 8-hour pregame show on NFLN. IMO, most of the negative noise is a result of the NFCC game, and is being led by, couple second rate hacks (ESPN's Adam Schefter & Pro Football Talk) who have some sort of hate towards the Rams organization. Hopefully the feeling of frustration from the Rams and their fans, for continually being counted out, comes to fruition with a huge win on Sunday. This franchise and its fans are way, way overdue for a championship.

There is nothing that brings a team together like an us against the world scenario. I just read that before Superbowl III Joe Namath predicted a win for the Jets over the overwhelming favored Colts, everyone thought he was nuts, well it turned out he was right.
