I think the Rams had a pretty good off season even if they did not sign any big name free agents.

TB allows Gaines to play to his strength as a 1T NT in a one gap attacking style front. Morris kept insisting that Gaines two gap. On that 3rd and one on the Bengals final series it was Gaines who hit the RB first and stopped him short and AD finished him off by not allowing him to fight for that yard. Did Morris learn from that? No that's why Gaines didn't return and won't return as long as Morris is DC. Why do you think Wagner went back to Seattle? Why do you think Ramsey wanted out? Why do you think Miller turned down the same money from the Rams as he got in Buffalo? It's not a coincidence. LA is no longer a place where defensive stars want to come to. We get reclamation projects like Witherspoon and waiver wire claims like Shelley. I'm glad we have them but they aren't Ramsey level DBs.

If Gaines plays for TB the way he played in LA they will give him a nice extension. I'm happy for Gaines and sad for our loss. Turner isn't a NT, he's undersized. Kobie is a one gap 3T who should be rotating with AD to keep Donald fresh. Henderson knows that but won't butt heads with Morris. But does our DC see that? Nope, he has him listed as a NT. He certainly isn't a two gap NT. This is exactly the problem where Morris refuses to play to a player's strengths.

McVay and Snead are hoping for Morris to become comp picks. But if he doesn't get a sniff next year they have to let him go.

IDK, I heard Gaines left because he wasn't thanked for getting lunch for Morris. You see, Gaines ordered it but Morris had thanked Copeland when he handed it to him.

If the Rams can be this creative in 2023 - just thinking of '24 with another $50M in cap space, ought to be a thrilling ride!!

Not to mention a full stable of draft picks going forward. McVay will no doubt pick his QB of the future and use whatever resources he needs to go up and get him, if needed.

Really? There's a lot there I haven't seen backed up by player quotes. Or Jourdan. Or the Rams. Or even outside NFL reporters. We offered Miller the same money as Buffalo? We offered Miller a 6 year, 120 mil contract? I believe that's BS! Ramsey wanted out? Definitely BS. Wagner went back to Seattle because of Morris? I read it was the Rams asking for a pay cut and the fact they were cleaning house. Gaines didn't return and won't return as long as Morris is DC? So his leaving was his decision and he turned down a Rams offer? First time I've heard that. Where did you get all this "new" inside information?

Unfortunately, if that is true, then Head Coach Sean McVay must also suck.

McVay's staff, his responsibility. If his most important assistant "Sucks" then that's on him.

Well it looks like McVay is stuck with him. Believe me if they could have gotten a comp pick for Morris this off season the Rams would have gladly taken it. I am just curious what has Morris done for the Rams recently that warrants support from posters on this board? Please inform me because maybe I am missing something.

I'm not a fan of Morris. Never have been.

Just think a Head Coach that controls his Staff ... which McVay clearly does ... is responsible for that Staff.

And I don't believe McVay is "stuck" with Morris as his DC. He wants him.

Well, if he does want him, he is not as smart as I thought he was.

Looks like Brian Burns and the Panthers are at another impasse. Wonder if we take another shot at it

One thing I love about this team under the McVay/Snead/Kroenke era is that they will pay top performers but also axe anyone who doesn't perform. So ripping the bandaid off a well-paid roster that wasn't producing was perfectly timed. Might have another subpar season but then we'll be back on the rise following an offseason of FA additions and a draft with what might be a high first round pick.

As long as we have our secret weapon for long range death strikes, Tutu Atwell, we will be fine.
