Food talk y'all!

What type of food is your favorite? Nationality or regional or just meat type I guess.

For me...I really enjoy southern style cooking. I like fried meats and buttery veggies. I love BBQ and iced tea.

If I had to choose a nationality, I would have to say Italian. As long as it's not a white sauce, I'm game. I love the Italian flavors...capers, sun dried tomatoes, tomato sauce, herbs....mmmm

We always have issues in my house because my wife always wants Mexican....I am not a fan. I've found a single dish that I eat every time. It's chicken with chorizo and that white cheese with the fixins and some tortilla shells. But nothing else for me.

I used to be just like you Juggs. About two years ago I got norovirus twice within a couple years. Now I can't digest tomato sauce very well. We're talking maybe 1.5 slices of red sauce pizza and that's all my stomach can tolerate.

I can't stand thick white sauce, but if you do something thinner like a beurre blanc or pepe e cacio it's pretty good.

I mostly crave Thai and Chinese food as my wife doesn't care for it.

Maaaaaaaan that Norovirus swept through my house about 6 months before rona showed up. I would rather get sick with any virus I've ever had compared to that. I had the Vid and I would do it again and again before I took on Noro again. That shit is terrible!

I like wine sauces and thinner sauces. I'm not sure what the before blanc sauce is. I've heard of it. I really like chicken picatta.

I've never had Thai food. I want to try it. I love noodles and I love spicy. I think we could be a good match.

Also, I do make one pasta, it's a Cajun shrimp and sausage spicy pasta. It has a cup of cream mixed with a cup of chicken stock and some crushed tomatoes. That shit is delicious.

Man, this is a tough one because I like so many things when done well.

My top 5 go-to ethnic foods would be :
1) Mexican
2) Chinese
3) Japanese sushi & saki
4) Indian
5) Italian

I love pizza, but would hardly call it Italian any longer.
I love a loaded Spanish paella & sangria on occasion.
It's hard to beat good ol Cajun food when dreaming of Louisiana.

Still, ... classic Americana is pretty much the tops, whether it be a Cheeseburger, fries & onion rings, a perfectly marbled steak with baked potato smothered in butter, sour cream, sautéed onions & mushrooms, fresh seafood, or southern style fried chicken, I love it all as well as a hundred others i've forgotten to mention. The traditional Thanksgiving feast remains a favorite, and a simple kosher hot dog on a loaded bun also meets with my approval, OK, maybe a couple of those. Patty melts, turkey club sandwiches, pastrami sandwiches, or even a giant Cobb salad, i'm a happy man ...
BBQ ribs were once in for a leadership role, but now that i'm older, they are a bit rich for me, so i've slowed done in that department.

@Riverumbbq Indian food is great, but rich with the curry and chutney sauces. I can only really eat it during the cooler seasons.

I recently heard though southeast Asia tends to eat spicier foods in summer as it will cool the body down during digestion.

I love hamburgers. That’s my go to #1.

Next... Mexican food. Pretty much the whole range, with enchiladas the tree topper for my taste buds. Lots of different ways to do enchiladas!

The worst thing about where I live is 0 access to good Mexican cuisine. There are none around. I only get Mexican food when I travel... which, is near zero right now.

I love BBQ and iced tea.

Have you ever been to Dexter, MO for their ribs? Link below. Holy crap, these are good. Dry, smokey, seasoned up stoutly.

I have tried other locations, but the original smokehouse in Dexter, when there was only one... was hard to get into. You might wait hours.

I have also always thought Memphis BBQ might be overrated until I tried it.

My gut says... if you can find it... there is a hole in the wall somewhere in Memphis that might hide the best BBQ known to mankind. Thick and sticky style, anyway.

Get in here, @Dodgersrf....

Sorry @Juggs

My favorite is fresh seafood eaten the same day I catch it. Anyone who thinks they don't like fish or other seafoods has probably never eaten it this way. It's impossible to duplicate the flavors and textures of seafood that is eaten the same day It's caught.

My favorite is conch. Some say it's a giant snail, but it’s considered a shellfish. It has the added side effect of being a sex enhancer for men. It's nickname is Bahamian Viagra. Conch has the highest level of testosterone of any animal on the planet by a very large margin. So it's effects on men are not just a wives tale.

When we take our boat over to the Bahamas I make conch salad, which is basically conch ceviche, every single day. On our way out to fish/dive each day we will collect about 10 conch. We just put em in a compartment on the boat and they live all day long without water or the need to be iced. I'll use some for bait, but I'll keep most if not all for my daily salad that I make at the end of the day when we're cleaning our catch.

I bring shit ton of fresh oranges, lemons, and limes. You gotta use fresh squeezed juice. Put some fresh chucked tomatoes, onions, fresh bell peppers (NOT green ones though)... in a big glass sealed container with the cleaned conch pieces. Put it down in the cooler with brined ice (much colder than ice) to cool. It needs to sit in there to "cook" in the citrus juices for a few hours.

After the boat is washed and you're chilling at the dock with some strong cocktails in hand. Pull that ice cold conch salad out and get a big bowl of it for yourself. Add the hotsauce of your liking and everything in that bowl (especially the citus juice) be completely gone extremely fast. Repeat as needed. Whatever might be left over... I put that back down in the brined ice for the next morning... I'll have it for my breakfast first thing.

I make a mean conch chowder and fried cracked conch too. But that conch salad is my favorite food.

I knew ur ass couldn't resist.

My uncle lives in Florida, I believe it's Ocean Breeze or Gulf Breeze, something like that. He loves to go out and fish. Says he brings it to a restaurant there and they cook it up for him and it's the best. I don't like fish at all. Something about the texture. I can stand salmon and I think tuna looks good. I would need a meatier fish. I cant stand the flakiness of catfish. That's the most eaten fish where I come from.

Love shell fish

I like a lot of different foods, but the only foods I crave are Chinese, pizza, and a good sub sandwich. I could live off of those three.

I've never had Memphis ribs, but it is something I should try.

I do make my own rubs and sauce when smoking though.

I really need to get a hold of Stu and by some of his product.
It's probably far superior to what I make.

If you do, I wanna know where I can order.

I honestly prefer American barbeque. It really doesn't even matter what it is: I love pulled pork sandwiches and chicken as much as I love beef brisket and ribs of any kind. I also love to have garlic bread/Texas toast with the BBQ.
