I like Watson, but I think he’d get himself killed behind last years line so, hell no.

But any and all suggestions welcome at this time TV is our best friend lol. We should start a quarantine thread for best things to watch that actually be cool if it's ok with the mods. All I hear from friends family is tiger king I will get around to it but I like stuff that jumps up and surprises you like not everyone is on the band wagon yet.

I prefer pocket QBs personally. So I'd say with Jared. Both QBs btw have some growing to do still, the difference is that the pocket QB has a higher chance to stay healthy long enough to get there.

What I'd really like to see is a backup QB who has upside though. So still holding out hope, slim as it is, that the Rams scoop a dev QB they like later on in this draft.

Watson is very exciting to watch. I don't watch him every game like I watch Goff. Goff is the safer pick but, Watson can pass and run.

In Goff We Trust.

I like Watson he seems like a good leader so nothing against him but I've had a feeling about Goff since before we drafted him and it hasn't changed. Hes shown durability, leadership, freakish accuracy, beautiful deep ball, doesn't get rattled (NFCCG in NOLA), good pocket awareness, has the ability to scramble if needed (and does well), effective hard count, etc. He's really good and going to be great for a long time. Plus hes young. If the line gets sorted out it's going to be interesting to see how much hes improved. All that he endured in 2019 should benefit him from now on. Running QBs are interesting to me because they're good at extending plays or making plays out of nothing but offen injured. Mahomes and Wilson come to mind and while Wilson is an anomaly Mahomes has been injured already.

While I do like Watson, I'd still prefer Goff. People don't seem to realize it, but Goff's still only twenty-five. He's got tons of potential as a pocket passer.

lol I think the actual issue with a running qb is injuries. If a WR is sour over a QB running you can move on from the player. Good wideouts are easiest to come by then good, reliable QB's.
I stand by what I said. running QBs suck the life out of your team. Its all about "Them". Kappertat, Vick, V Young and the rest. Most are a dumb as a box of hammers anyway. In a proper passing game the O line does its job, the coaches do their jobs, the receivers do their jobs and RBs block or catch the pass. EVERYONE gets credit.
Running QBs like Kappertat get in the end zone and kiss their tats and make it about them. Vick did not even study, said as much. What that does is that pile gets away without studying but the O line(most important bunch on any football team) studies and does all the hard work. Receiver kill themselves trying to get open and take shots to the chin trying to hold on to the ball and the running QB gets all the glory. All the attention goes to the "running" with his "look at me" BS.
It creates dissent, unhappiness. The QB is supposed to lead, be tough as nails, smart- read defenses, and accurate getting the ball to the right guy.. Vick/Kappertat comes in and runs 60 yards for a TD on a broken play and throws all that away.
Baltimore will suffer because their QB has the IQ of a squid. but he can "run". Big deal. I would take one Warren Moon, Dan Fouts for 10 of those guys.

I would go nay for most of the reasons others have already stated.

I don't have anything against Watson, and having one of those explosive running QB's would certainly be fun to watch, but I think that a pocket passer just has more longevity and overall tend to have better careers as long as they can have a team around them. We've already seen Goff has the ability to be one of the best in the league. His arm talent is among the best in the league as well, even though he doesn't get enough credit for it. He's got one of the best deep balls, and his mid range and short range passing is on point as well.

Remember all those dropped passes from Bradford because he'd just rocket it in all the time? Don't really see that with Goff, it's the little things. Plus Goff is young and is getting better, especially in the mental aspect side of things.

He may never win MVP, but neither has Brees, and I'm pretty sure most people would take a QB with his career over probably any running QB.

With a fairly bad OL I’d say Watson. Gotta run run run for his life. With a great OL I’d take Goff. So...

RG3 is another example.
