Not to downgrade the seriousness of the situation here at all... but this is posted in my garage.

Be safe ROD Bruddas in the storm's path. If you're near the coast... get the hell out of there.

Hopefully you have a generator if you are in the area. The worst part of these storms many times is the fact that you lose power for days on end.

Gotta have some humor at times like this.

Funny how we all turn into fish with all the water we buy!

Yes we have the beer as well

Just curious to how many of us ROD members are in the path?

We're in Myrtle Beach. Waiting to decide if we're leaving tomorrow morning.

Have been thru a few but this one is a weird one.
Leave. Leave before it's to late. If it takes the path they are now projecting NC will be under Hurricane winds for 24-30 hours. If you are in its path, you want to be gone. Believe me, I live in FL and have been through a couple of "3's" you don't want to stay.

Also, take any thing that will rot out of you Fridge and get rid of it. You are going to lose power. Period. And more than likely it will be for several days if not longer. After Jeanne in 2004 we were without power for 7 days. After Matthew, we were without power for 4.

You and your a Family are definitely in my Prayers! My Aunt and Uncle live in Myrtle Beach and for several reasons ( Health being one of them) they have already decided that they are staying no matter what happens! I am really worried about them as well as everyone in this storm’s path!!!

@EastRam listen to me, and you know I love you my friend. But do NOT stay.

If you stay you probably wont suffer any harm physically, and most likely your home won't get looted. It may sustain damage, but you being there won't prevent that.

It's not about that.

The problem is (and I know this from Irmageddon) is that electricity will take 1,2,3 or many more days to restore. A friend of mine here was without power for 11 or 12 days I forget now but I was able to help him out with loads of ice because I got power back in about 4-5 days. Most people were without for 1-2 weeks in areas further south. Some up to 3.

Without power in some areas water can't be pumped, so you can't shower or flush the crapper. And the water is all effed up anyway.

Also there won't be much if any food in the stores, or very little here and there. Not much gas will be available. It'll probably be hot as balls and you won't have AC or even a fan to use to help cool off. I have pictures of the Publix near me with empty shelves..........

If you have coolers get quart and gallon ziplock bags and fill them with water and freeze them solid in your freezer. LOTS of them. It works better than cubes, lasts much longer and creates more "cold". Put everything you can in the freezer with several of the bags of ice and in coolers too. You don't usually think about this but there's probably hundreds of dollars of stuff in your fridge and freezer. So pack it all up in ice to preserve it.

If you have a gas grill make sure the propane tank is filled or that you have an extra just in case for when you get home. That was a BIG deal for me and for my friend who was without power because we could cook. Everything here is electric. :(

Go find a place to hang out well out of the way of the storm for a few days then go home.

You are correct my brother. Not saying well stay but are leaning that way.

I'm with you on the freezer bags. Already done. And making more

Have 5 gallon buckets full of water to flush the toilets.

Grills ready and also have charcoal just in case the gas runs out.

Wish I would have bought a generator. But have a neighbor 2 doors down with while home generator and have room for us to bring food stuffs down.

Again. Still haven't made a decision. Waiting until morning. Will give us plenty of time to leave. Hoping the storm stays north of us and goes behind us like some of the models predict. Which as you know gives us the weaker south side of the storm.

Another reason we're waiting is we have a neighbor 85 with heart issues and on oxygen and refuses to leave. So wanting to look out for them and help if they need it.

Love ya man. Stay cool

We were in the crosshairs, but it looks like Florence is headed south. The amount of rain that has fallen on NC still leaves my area in trouble. The soil is saturated from a very wet spring and summer. This is going to lead to localized flooding inland, and power outages due to downed trees.

My thoughts and prayers are going to the coastal regions of both NC and SC. Those guys are going to get hit with the storm surge. I hope you guys are safe and get through this storm.

I missed the Rams season opener vs the Colts last season because of Hurricane Irma..

We were blessed that our home wasn't damaged but I feared for the worst and for family & friends.

Weather and natural disasters are a horrible experience and can shake up your life for merely weeks and for the less fortunate sometimes years.

Safety and preserving Health over material things.

Prayers for the families that are about to experience this hurricane.

Looks like it's gonna stall like Harvey did. That's no bueno. Hopefully everyone has stocked up on the essentials.

Next month I’ll finally be getting my roof fixed and in December replacing my damaged cage from Irma.

Now I realize why it can take years to recover...

Well it looks like it's losing a little of it's punch, hopefully it will continue to weaken to reduce damages.

In Naples there are still tarps on roofs and damaged signs and so on. It'll take a couple more years before it's all back to normal.

People who install storm shutters are working 8-10 months out. Roofers and sign guys are the same.

Pool cage guys will take a couple of years to get caught up I bet.

It’s worse than that because almost every pool cage guy works for a builder. Wouldn’t surprise me to find that some counties after Irma have no new cage builders.
