Outstanding defensive performance! Particularly the defensive line. The secondary was definitely improved but benefited from some dropped passes (including a TD by Deebo) and missed throws.
How huge is it for Karty to have such a big game kicking in the elements? Not only will the team trust him going forward, it will do wonders for his confidence.
Stafford was off for much of the game. Even the explosive play to Puka would have been a TD with a better throw. He also iooked like he missed some open TD early.... one to Tutu, one to Robinson... he also had a few throws that really should have been intercepted.... but he pulled it together when we needed it most with some key 3rd down conversions to help ice it. A few designed runs too. You could see how bad he wanted this.
Speaking of protecting the football, great showing by Kyren Williams doing the little things right. The ball looked secure all night in his hands despite the rain. Hopefully he can put the fumble issues behind him.
Puka is a monster. For my money, he is easily the most complete receiver in the league. The only WRs that I might rank about him are Jefferson and Chase. But neither of them block like Puka, are as physical as Puka, or used on end around like Puka. Can you believe we drafted arguably the best WRer in the NFL in the 5th round?
Another great game by McVay. I'd say the past 2 weeks have been his best all season. The elements limited offensive execution by the players, so the offensive numbers won't show it, but I thought his calls were great.
Offensive line was solid again. It makes a big difference having the guys up front healthy.
Beating the 49ers, on the road, on a short week, after an emotional win, in the rain, in a slug fest, to end their season, when they were playing with their backs against the wall..... is no easy task. Amazing win. Gutsy win. Love seeing the Rams able to win in multiple ways. Season sweep!
Seemingly no injuries, and a long week now to rest up.
