According to CoPilot (AI), here’s how:
1. Extend Kevin Dotson — Saves ~$11.8M
2. Extend Puka Nacua — Saves ~$3.6M
3. Extend Colby Parkinson — Saves ~$4.6M
This saves approximately $20.1M.
If needed, restructure a few more vets
Then - Add void‑year structuring, and they could easily fit a 1‑year, $12–20M cap hit for Donald, whose salary could adapt to his role.
Get ‘er done Les and make history!

I love the figures you came up with. Makes sense.

My answer is simple:

If Aaron Donald decides he can still perform at Aaron Donald standards, the best front office and the best organization in football will figure it out.

What's interesting to me is what we haven't heard.

There hasn't been an immediate shutdown of the comeback talk from AD. No public "absolutely not." No "I'm done."

That tells me he's probably evaluating one thing and one thing only:

Can he still be Aaron Donald?

Not good.
Not very good.
Not a role player.

Aaron Donald.

If the answer to that question is yes, I have all the confidence in the world that Les Snead, Sean McVay, and the Rams will handle the rest.

History might be waiting to be made.

GO RAMS!

Let’s go 20 million this year and 5 million for the next 10 years.

20 million guaranteed.
50 million dependent on the following:
1. Report to Camp in 10 days.
2. Rams win Super Bowl.

I hope he stays retired.
His legacy has been cemented. Let’s not be greedy.

He will not be at the same level we are are going to remember him at. He was beginning to struggle when it came to simultaneously throwing around two huge ass human beings whose combined weight is an imbalance of about 100 pounds.

Yeah, I am torn. Would be cool to see, but then if things go wrong its just more crap coming the Rams way for going all in and coming up short. It would also cost you a young player who otherwise would have made the team and could be important for the future, considering the lack of picks in the near term.

However, it would be sick to see him and Garrett playing together. Talk about must see TV.

Like I said, I'm glad there will be some finality to it finally. He either comes back now or he comes back never. We have to get past this constant will he or won't he stuff.

Yeah, I feel like if the Rams have some injuries up front, then is when you get AD to come back and pick up the slack. Him coming back for the whole season, while it would probably be exciting to see could have some serious consequences roster wise.

I don't think he will come back for the season. It would feel like jumping on the Bandwagon now that they have built the team. I don't think he would want that.

He could have come back and saved Verse if he wanted to play. I don't think it is a good look to do it now. Not unless the team suffers injuries and needs him near the end.

While they may have been tongue in cheek, his prior comments about making a return if the Rams got Parsons makes me think the idea of playing on a front where he wouldn't be double or triple teamed all the time intrigued him.

The Rams are very good at managing the salary cap. I'm sure they have mapped out many alternative scenarios with the possibility of AD coming back. More than a few years back, I gave up trying to figure out the cap money. There are so many moving parts and tricks that it's hard for fans to map things out. The Rams will figure it out if and when AD wants to come back. It's nice to know they have extension options.

I honestly think the Rams have enough to win the SB now, so I don't think we need him.

But the football fan in me wants to see it. As you said, it would be must see TV.

I hope he stays retired too. Seems like Turner and Fiske are set to have great seasons and they are coming into their primes. Why take snaps from them?
I'd bet money that AD would have more impact and still be more of a game wrecker than both of those guys.
