The stability of every single NFL franchise is dependent on it's owner. Our Rams are in the most stable hands that can be asked for there.

The turnover that happens every... single... year... with players happens on every... single... team. It's by design from the league to create parody. I'll buy that every... single... time over leagues like the NBA & MLB. The NFL model is set-up to try and make sure all teams can compete on an even playing field.

Some teams have ownership that sucks ass. Most of us here have an intimate understanding of this unfortunately. So even in a league designed to create parody... there are some teams that still manage to be world class consistent losers anyway. The suck ass owners are the reason for it. Thank All That Is Holy that Ram fans no longer have to live under that cloud of suck ass.

The days of having a Dynasty team without blatant cheating ended long before the year 2000. Those days ended when the league made the WISE decision to do its best to create parody among all of it's teams.

All teams have to reshuffle their players after every season... even the SB champs. No teams are immune to it. Some teams are infected with a cancerous ownership though... we are NOT.

We also have one of the very few QBs on the planet who is capable of winning a Super Bowl. A QB who said this week that he expects to be playing in the SB this year against that team in KC.

That is as fucking stable as any team can hope to be in my books.
Post of the year! Thank you! We do have arguably the best owner in all of football. I always think of the Chicago Bears owner who is the sweetest little lady on the face of the planet. But, they haven't been good for almost 40 years and their stadium renovation or relocation situation is a complete disaster (in limbo as they need public money).

A few thoughts:
- We all knew going "all in" was going to result in the bill being due someday. We are here now.
- What's awesome is we won the damn thing! Raise your hand if you would have preferred the "Packer Way." Not me.
- Brad Holmes is a great evaluator of talent and proving to be a very good GM in his short tenure. I'm happy for him.

I absolutely love our front office/coach combination. Top of the league, imo. I do, however, suspect there is going to be a true "reset" this offseason as they reposition for another run. I suspect many more moves to come to get us in position. Ramsey, Floyd, perhaps AD, and many more.

Fans are going to be faced with the unrealistic view we have enough to contend for a SB in the next two years or embrace the transition with the understanding we have the right guys in place to get it done in a short period of time.

We don't have a SB winning roster. Bobby is gone, Ramsey and Floyd will soon follow, and those aren't moves you make to win it all in '23. The front office is clearly envisioning a retooling.

Which is fine. Fans spend all year playing GM and cap evaluators...but when the actual team does it (what they're supposed to do) everyone loses their mind!

It's mind boggling after all those years under Whoregia. I have to pinch myself sometimes.

Just a what if question:

Would you trade Ramsey for Brian Burns?

Personally, I'd say yes. Burns is younger and a dominant edge. But the caveat is making Jimmy Lake DC. Jimmy is more likely to play Rochell and Durant on the boundaries and play his defense aggressively. To trade away the best CB even for a dominant edge is a waste because with Morris he will never have the time to get to the QB. It's no fluke that AD and Floyd have had a drop in production. Morris' policy of uncontested catches and wide open short zone is why.

The problem with trading Ramsey is they still could end up with about $10M dead cap so they might not clear as much as most think.
You clear his entire $27M in 24' though. That is huge for the future cap health.

Now Pelissero confirms Ramsey trade talks.

If they are actually retooling the team for a future run, could it mean that McVay is in it for a longer run and we can say bye to the year to year drama?

If that is the case then I’m all in.

Or as Memphis pointed out they then push cap $ to next yr with restructures of Kupp and others and thus you open up room in 23' that way.

There is a difference between the Rams shopping Ramsey and teams shopping the Rams for Ramsey.

If a team comes to the Rams and asks about Ramsey, the Rams would be foolish to just ignore them.

I guess no one is above being traded. If an offer comes along for Ramsey, like 2 #1's, Snead would take it. If the offers suck, Ramsey will be a Ram next tear.

According to the media, it's not just Ram compensation. Jalen wants a bigger contract. Damn few teams are going to be willing to cough up picks and a big ass contract to boot.

I guess what I am asking… the Rams seemed like a model franchise through 2021. Then along came 2022… and things got wobbly.

The first nose wrinkler was the Akers situation. That whole situation was weird.

As we reached the off-season… we had another round of McVay retirement drama and the almost cryptic messaging as that unfolded. Was he burned out? Or, what was going on? Do we really know?

Now a piece by Jourdan Rodrigue suggests the Rams were skeptical of success in 2022, from the get go, and how Morris was acting as glue to the team struggles.

Lastly… yesterday’s surprise Bobby Wagner release. This might have been all cap related, but the comment “he wants to be on a winner” sort of jumps off the page.

Is there drama behind the scenes we should be concerned about?
Really good thread. Add Ramsey to the speculation of being traded I too feel this franchise seems rudderless at the moment. I never expected Wagner the #1 ILB in the league to be let go.

We shall see. Last year was an anomoly IMO. The high expectations coming off the Super Bowl made it seem all the worse. The cap is what it is, I'd love for us to be less of a dead cap accepting team but that's what they do and it's the trend in the NFL with good teams it seems. We upgrade a couple spots and reinforce a bit of depth I think health makes us competitive again and people will look back at 2022 and laugh.
I agree it was mostly an anomaly. We didn't anticipate Boom and especially Robinson playing so poorly. Rest I agree with the injuries I have said since the start of all the injuries is why the team played so poorly. Same for TB they had less injuries but concentrated in the same area OL and they were down 10 ppg from the previous year.

I understand. I just really like how the Lions have drafted and moves they've made with him there. And really don't like how we've done here since he left. Early indication is Brad is a great GM.
Have you seen their defense? It's terrible like really bad.

Rome wasn't built in a day. They started by helping protect and give the QB weapons and now are starting to build the Defense.
