If Kroenke was going to stay in St. Louis, would he have hired Fisher? He would have had to hire a new HC with the way things were going in any case, but most likely someone else. rams progression from there would be completely different if he had intended to stay.

I think either way we would have been in good position but the move to LA without a doubt put a sense of urgency on the organization top to bottom which is why we are in the playoffs right now.
