Cool vid that shows V8 putting 300+ lb dudes on skates all day. Like Armstead said.... This man different.

Thanks for sharing. It’s a good video.

This guy hints at what I have been wondering about Verse’s game. How long can he win with the bull rush and a lack of other moves?

I also find it interesting how well he uses other moves to shed blocks in the run game but not in the passing game.

He’ll get there. Were you a finished product in your career at 24?

What’s exciting is he has a patented move he can play off of. Like a Dwight Freeney spin or Von Miller dip and bend. The V8 bull rush. :fistbump1:

Except getting better with age doesn’t usually work in an athletic profession. I’d like to see him develop some other moves. Maybe Giff works with him on that this summer.

Every very good/great pass rusher you listen to says the same thing. You have one dominant move/ability and the rest are elevated by the OL not knowing if you're going to do that or a different move.

Verse will be just fine going forward, he'll keep that dominant bull rush and refine the rest of his game. The rest doesn't have to be elite just good enough to keep the OL uncertain of what you are going to do to them.

Last year he told us that he met AD at Albany college. AD told him he only needed three moves.

Somehow that became one move. AD had more than one move. So you are not correct btw. AD used three moves in one with his jump chop club. He also had a great bull rush.

Not sure he's wrong. Part of refining his game will no doubt be improving and incorporating other moves to keep upping his game. He already does have some other moves. He needs to elevate those moves, but it's not like he only bull rushes. He has an uber elite bull rush for a rookie and some other not so elite moves. AD didn't always use either three moves or the bull rush. He had other moves when he was getting stale mated. I'm sure Verse will do the same.

I think his greatest improvement will be in closing the deal at a better rate. I would put a higher priority on that than new moves. Hopefully he can do both, even though he didn't really have to in college.

A win for all Ram Fans happened again this summer. Verse spent time with AD. If anyone is going to coach him up to develop more skills and an arsenal with his pass rush it's AD.

It will be a beautiful replay watching a tackle expecting a Bull Rush while Verse finesses his way around them for the sack.

It remains to be seen is all. Hopefully he continues to develop. He said in college he was trying to use many moves and AD said you only needed three. Mostly we’ve seen one. All I’m saying is I hope he starts developing the other two because as he ages the bull rush is likely to become less affective if every OT knows it’s coming and he’s not as quick as he was when he was 24.

One thing he doesn’t seem likely to overcome is his stiffness and possibly his poor tackling. But I’ll keep my fingers crossed. I love what he did last year and even if the Rams only get six prime years of Verse I’m sure it will be fun to watch.
