This may hit a bit differently for some of you.

Ive can honestly say that thanks to Steven Jackson (SJ39), twenty years ago - two decades ago - I became a fan of the Rams (and Ramstalk on stltoday). Many of you are longer tenured than I, and some shorter. But what we all have in common is that we love this team. The TEAM... not the city, but the team itself. We invest money, time, and effort into this franchise. We all call ourselves die hard fans... and we all are; in our own way.

I stayed with the Rams when they moved from St. Louis because of the team, not the owner, but the team. What a blessing it has been, and the amount of joy and memories I've created with my boys, they are many. Les Snead and Sean McVay ... I mean, how many fan bases across the world can say that they have had a better tandem? Not many. We've won a Championship with arguably the best defensive player of all time (call me bias if you want, fair); and been in contention nearly every season since McVay entered the picture. Sure, injury plagued season back when Jourdan Rodrigue was the beat (she's killer and a huge success), first two seasons were rough with turning over the roster. But man, I want to just encourage all of my brothers who love the team I do across the globe... BE PRESENT and enjoy this time in your life with our squad, your family, the stage of life you are in ... Men, be present.

We're living in a blessed window right now. No doubt about it. And I think the fans who lived through the 90s, even in part, will always have that perspective to appreciate what we're seeing right now. But I agree and it's why I'm not gonna lose my shit if I dislike our draft.

I definitely think those lean years with SJAX as the only shining star shaped the way i experience my team now. If course i want to win more superbowls. But im also just super grateful that our team is talked about in such a positive way. Pioneering the way the NFL operates a football team in the modern age. It is such a blessing to be one of those premiere teams. Les Snead, Sean McVay, Kevin Demoff, and Stan Kroenke, this fan appreciates the shit out of you. You’ve forever changed this team i love. I’ll never stop being a fan.

Going thru rough times and the down years make you appreciate the good times that much more. Heck, I remember watching the Rams that year they were 1-15 just hoping to see one good play or great hit.

I've lived through the 90s, the front office that had the "I'm a throat slasher" debacle, the worst 10 year W-L record in history of the NFL, my team moving across the country from me, a "middle school offense", etc etc etc. It takes a lot for me to say something negative about this current coach and front office. I have at times, they aren't perfect. But fuck, this is football mecca for those of us who have endured all of that stuff. Thank god 1999 happened to at least sustain us until McSnead but that 10 year stretch was not easy.

S-JAX was one of the most visibly, openly passionate players I've ever watched in my life as a Rams fan.
There were games that it appeared like he was the only guy who gave a shyte about winning the game. His helmet came off seemingly more than any other back on the Rams.......and it was always because of his no quit effort, and the passion that he played with .....every damn play and game.
It would be amazing to have him, in his prime, playing on this team ........ right now.
This offense would be truly unstoppable with him in our backfield.

Nice post JRob. I never could understand the folks in StLou being so butthert about the team moving back to LA. Didn't bother me that much when they moved to the lounge in 95. The Rsms are my team, regardless of what city they play in.
SJax was a beast and should get more respect. Had he been on a winning team he would be getting HOF consideration

SJax was great but Ill never forget Watching E.D. I was a season ticket holder the whole time in Anaheim and E.D. was tearing it up. Watched the great Rams backs over the years. My 1st game at the coliseum I was about 8 and watching Dick Bass and Jon Arnett. I'd say E.D., S Jax and Marshall lead the pack but there's been a lot of great ones

I watched ED too. Spectacular runner as he could run around you, or run through you, and could take it home on any given play.
The Robinson years were pretty good, but nothing like these times.
My first memory of watching Rams running backs is seeing Dick Bass play.
He was sometimes called the Scooter by Dick Enberg on 710 KMPC-LA radio, who broadcast the home games at the time.
