We wouldn't get anything of value for Henderson. Maybe a 5th or 6th round pick. Better off keeping him.

Now just us your boy Ben Mason so we can get a real TE2/FB
I agree on the post. Henderson salary isnt guaranteed, he can walk. So if Michel can be signed for a reasonable #, I'd love it. Save the 1 mill and the 1 mill they'd pay a rook, and get Michel 5-6 mill.
I'd personally trade Henderson for a pick and draft a speedy running back in the draft next year. We lack picks right now, and recouping them with Henderson and maybe even Woods would help tremendously.
I said a 5th or 6th, but better than having a 3rd stringer making more than the vet min on the roster. We wouldn't get anything of value for Henderson. Maybe a 5th or 6th round pick. Better off keeping him.

Yep, your 3rd string RB has to play STs, and he can'tThe problem with Hendy is that once you push him down the chart to where he won't hurt you he is taking a spot away from special teams. Ideally that 3rd RB can do something like returns, or gunner, etc.
So I think he needs a fresh start elsewhere. He's probably good enough for plenty of other teams.
I just don't believe Henderson & his injury history has much trade value, I'd rather have him as cheap, mostly sideline insurance for 2022. I don't care if he walks as a free agent in 2023, his purpose is well served enough if Akers or Michel happen to go down, at least we know what Henderson is and we will still have Funk or another drafted RB hanging about.
jmo.
They do because he was a starting back with potential. Akers and Michel are good enough, and you still have Funk and a drafted running back (please fucking fate let it be Tyler Badie) to consider. And you also have to consider that even a fifth or sixth round pick is better than simply letting Henderson sit on the bench and leave for nothing.
We need the draft picks, even if we do win it all.
I don't mind a trade that would bring a decent draft pick, although I see no way a team parts with a 5'th rounder for the oft injured Henderson. Perhaps we can garner a 6'th, but even that might be a tough sell. Right now I'm hoping the Rams can manage to bring in a 5'th for Woods.

I think you're underselling Woods' potential trade impact. I think we could easily get a second for Woods and a fifth for Henderson. Henderson is a potential 1b. back if he's healthy, and some teams will look into that. Woods is an elite receiver whom we would probably need to part from in order to bring OBJ into the fold. There would definitely be a bidding contest for Woods, were he to be on the market.

Well, total agreement as usual, I only add that they went jumbo package because they didnt have the TE who could block since Higs had to be more of a route runner. Speaking of Higs, when he signed his extension many folks (myself included) thought they vastly over paid. Talk about a crow eater, his contract may be the best value in the entire league. That said, its winding down with only 2 years left and at the moment nothing in the pipeline to replace him let alone play alongside...Unfortunately, I have doubts that McSnead ever had any stake in Ben Mason based on his total lack of interest at a time we appeared weakest with our blocking schemes. Later when he successfully used a 6'th offensive lineman in a jumbo set, that pretty much told me the writing was on the wall. While I can't predict how or who McVay chooses as a first man up blocking TE for the 2022 season, a free agent #2 TE should be on our agenda from the get-go if Hopkins, Blanton & Mundt aren't viable receiving targets or remain inconsistent blockers. If Woods is traded then giving McVay a more talented & versatile pool of players for 12 personnel seems warranted. Cleveland's 25 year old TE David Njoku is entering free agency this off-season, I'd love to see Snead make a play for him and then draft the best blocking TE that falls to us.

Do you think he can actually healthy? Part of having ability is availability.Njoku? Preaching to my choir on that one. I've been banging the drum on that dude for over a year now lol
