Sounds like they needed to get under the cap and that was primary reason for this. It's nice to have a little spending $, but that's really all it is for now. A very little kitty :-).

If the WRs are perfmorning well the first few weeks I definitely see them making a different move. It looks like the Rams already are pretty deep at WR and that is without OBJ. Might make sense to make a move to bring in another OL or pass rusher.

It all makes sense. Mcvay & Snead are on the same page,so that is the main thing.
There was a butt hurt Tampa Bay friend who was like The Rams are better. He said with The Rams there is no salary cap. How do they get all these players & resign everyone for record contracts like Kupp & AD99.

I do know Jalen wants to get paid & he should come before say a OBJ.

I'm thinking OBj might be incoming.

There doesn't seem to be any urgency at the moment to adjust the starting rotation on either the offense or defense. There's certainly no hurry to sign OBj since it'll likely be November or December before he's ready to take the field. If the Rams are currently making CAP adjustments to eventually squeeze OBj onto the 53 roster, that's great, and if our top 3 WR's remain healthy until the trade deadline, moving Van Jefferson, Rapp, Long, or even a back-up QB may be on the block if we just happen to require another OLineman or Edge rusher. We are sitting good as long as there are no serious injuries, we also have at least 3 more players who may return in the next 4 - 6 weeks from injury & suspension, ... the Practice Squad should hold us over for a few games if we must dip into them anytime soon, so I'm pretty optimistic about our chances for getting back to the BIG GAME, ... stay tuned because the Stafford/McVay show should only be stronger in their 2'nd year together, we've made huge improvements at ILB and with our DB's, Donald, Gaines & A'Shawn Robinson are absolutely beastly, and what more needs to be said about our WR corp ?
Just crank up our running game and we'll be unstoppable. Limit the injuries and we'll be quite fine.
jmo.

No matter the reason,it’s always better to adjust when the timing is right & be prepared just in case.
You are right. Improvise and overcome. That's what the Rams did last season and it paid off. I expect the same kind of front office magic this year too.

So overTheCap shows 4.2m cap space for the Rams. Spotrac shows 7m cap space. I believe both account for Higbee restructure. That’s a significant difference. Which is correct?

This is just an assumption on my part, but it's possible that OverThe Cap hasn't accounted for the Troy Hill restructure which was announced prior to the Higbee restructure, ... just don't quote me as I can't verify it.

Higbee gets restructured, huh? I have to imagine that Snead has a bunch of moves thought out, particularly with the edge rusher position or maybe even re-signing OBJ.
