Think we could trade for Trent Williams. I absolutely hate to say it but this is 99% Whits last season. It would be nice to put Williams at RT and bump Hav inside. Hav gets beat by speed a lot. That can be mitigated by playing G. The question is, who's our trade bate? Reynolds? Draft Picks?

Would love to see us give up our 1st rounder for Trent Williams. As many have mentioned here, it's not like we ever use the damn pick. Williams clearly doesn't want to play in Washington, so they may as well get something for him...

I guarantee that if we get him the entire offense will change.

Sounds good to me. But... how much is talent, and how much is coaching?
I'm starting to think that our "great O-line" of 2018 was smoke & mirrors. We all saw how Hav was "blocking" Clowney in the Texans game. Now, refs are flagging that "reverse choke" thing he does as holding. I've even seen Whit do it.
Is this how Kromer "fixes" an O-line? Ya, we need talent, but they also need to be taught to block right in technically sound & legal ways...

Yes, to both of you.

And do what with this 31 year old career LT who hasn't played a full season since 2012? Are we going to play him over Whit? Can he at his age and this stage of his career suddenly become a starting caliber guard or are we going to bench Hav? Can he play RT?

I haven't given this much thought, and I did not see the game yesterday, but the Rams defense put the offense in a hole quickly, forcing the Rams to throw... a lot! Tampa knew this and came after Goff on every play. The Rams still put up 40 points, and that is after giving up three turnovers! I'm not ready to change the O-line just yet. In Kromer I trust!

All fair points. I figured he could probably come in at RT, move Hav to guard. All I know is something needs to change on the OL.

Trent would help us but he wants to be paid. Between the cap hit issues and in-season cost of acquiring a good LT, there are a lot of reasons to be concerned and wonder if the Rams could pull it off.

But IMO if we traded for him he would give us a huge boost.

So the FO/coaches need to be prepared if the Rams play as sloppy and lose to the Seahawks this week. Something has to change regarding the reasons for our poor running game (Gurley/OL) and turnovers (Goff/OL). This could get ugly.

People are overreacting.

Boom and Allen will take a few games to gel with the holdovers.

Kinda tells ya how good Roger Saffold was at guard and now maybe Rams are feeling the sting a bit? He was the anchor of the run game last year.

I don't know about Saffold... seems to me the Rams problems started after the Detroit game last year when he was still with us.

I was toying with, why not try moving Noteboom to RT this year, and Havenstein to G. I don’t think Noteboom is a guard, but he is is one of our best 5.

Said for awhile that Saffold was the BEST LG in the NFL the last two years.

We seeing that now.

That said, I really, really like Noteboom and think Allen is going to really be special. He's not an instant hit like Travis Frederick was for the Cowboys, but he's going to be good.

The problem for these young'uns is that when you combine their lack of experience with the schematic achilles of our offensive system which is double A gap pressure and exotic blitzes and stunts focusing on those A gaps and bringing pressure up the middle... well, it's gonna take longer for us to adjust.

I wouldn't be surprised if we went on a bit of a skid until they figure it out.

there's a REASON the NFL doesn't run 6-1 all day. It's very vulnerable to a number of counters.

If McVay explores, finds and implements them, we'll be fine. If he doesn't, this will be a cardiac year with heartbreaking wins and losses and likely a 9-7ish record and OL injuries due to all the pass blocking.

I really hope getting our collective asses handed to us in our own house is a bit of a wakeup call.

I think McVay thought he could just scheme around us... but as Tampa Bay proved... a decently schemed 6-1 along with a power interior running game against us can give us fits from ANYONE.

If we play this way again Seattle in Seattle.... um... it's gonna be ugly af.

I think the oline will be fine.

I’d swear they were all hung over or something... with the fact each of them had at least one penalty. It was crazy.

It could also have just been a bad game, poor match-up player to player, or officiating that was impacting the game calling it tight.

Whatever it was, it was out of character for what we’ve seen so far. Yes, we need to run better... But I’m thinking that’s as much what defenses are doing alignment wise.

We‘ve also played some good fronts.

I‘m not too concerned, if we stay healthy.

Ppl are kind of exposing Goff’s lack of pre-play reading.

It’s Goff’s fault they are not opening up running lanes and keeping the pocket clean? This is one of the best sledging Goff posts I have read ever, for pure entertainment
