Well you just said it, a lot of athletes go to clubs, so why can't he during his free time? Oh, it's because he's "franchise QB" of the Cleveland Browns and since he's the QB he should be sitting in a corner studying his playbook all day. While I don't agree with what he's doing, he's obviously free to do w/e he wants, idk why people are having such a hard time with this. It's his life, let him do what he wants during his free time! Idk how hard he's working, but just because he's going to clubs doesn't mean he doesn't put in the time.

With that said... In general, he has acted like a knucklehead! I thought he would've grown up a bit (based on predraft and what not), and clearly I was/am wrong. However on THIS incident, I don't think he did anything wrong (based off the reports), it just so happens imo people are finding more reasons to diss/laugh on him. That was his free time, he should be able to do w/e he wants, even if he's a QB. I'm hating this QB stigma I'm getting from fans (not this website in particular, more like facebook and ESPN) that they must work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. BLAH!

This is what gives Johnny Manziel his image. I'm sure many of our Ram players go to nightclubs every week. No one cares b/c they handle themselves.

And I don't think it's that QBs need to work 24/7/365 it's that stuff like this shows immaturity. Compare Johnny Manziel to a guy like Sam Bradford, Andrew Luck or even Cam Newton. Those guys don't make asses out of themselves in public.

Of course he can go to a club. He should probably choose better friends to go with, however. Maybe he can take Bradford, Manning, Schaub, Ryan, Rodgers, or any number of QBs who are also spotted at nightclubs with patrons who throw drinks.

Oh, wait.

It's not about him being a QB. I don't care if any other QB had this happen. It's about his past. Claimed in the process leading up to the draft that he had "changed" and said all the right things. We come to find out that he didn't change. Had all the same issues during the season. Says at the end of the season, "I realize the error of my ways". Immediately gets fined for being late...and may have caused other teammates to be late while partying.

So what is he doing now before the off-season has even begun? Made more news while partying.

If you're the Browns and you continue to see this type of behavior, would it not concern you? Fool me once...

Actions speak louder than words. Guy says the "right" things but doesn't seem too intent on actually changing.
I have to say that he had me fooled saying all the right things on the Gruden camp, etc. leading up to the draft. I would have been excited if we took him at the time but man am I glad now we didn't pull the trigger on him. I bet Jerry Jones feels like he dodged a bullet too.

The only friends Johnny ShitBall is good at making, are the spoiled, untalented brat with a side of douche mixed in.

Like that Justin Bieber Alien Canada and what's his face cursed the rest of the world with.

The only way the Browns can overlook the constant negative news stories of Manziel being in the wrong place at the wrong time is if he was able to put something together for them on the field. If you ask me, I'd say he is putting himself on the hot seat and could be shipped elsewhere soon.

So...uh...remember that whole "professional" thing? That whole "I'm going to take this more seriously" thing? Why the hell are you out at a night club?

I'm pretty sure you doing more partying is not what the Browns had in mind when you told them you were going to be more professionally.

Kid clearly just doesn't get it.
he is a young man doing what most young men do, he went out for the night. its not like its the middle of the season and he should be studying his playbook, its a week into his off season, he does have a pretty stressful job and I don't see why its so bad that he went out and had fun. I don't like him as a QB, but I don't think this should be a bad mark on him.

Wouldn't that be interesting if he made friends with Bradford and they went out to Vegas and made the Hangover part 4? lol

Actions speak louder than words. Want to have a good time during the off-season? Do your job during the season. He didn't. He bullshitted during the pre-draft process claiming how he changed, didn't prepare like he should during the season and partied too much, then claimed, again, that he'd change and promptly got himself in trouble for doing the same thing. And now this pops up.

If he were Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, I wouldn't care. They've earned the right to live it up. But he's not.

As I said before, ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. He can continue to claim himself as a reformed and claim that he'll be "professional" but his actions indicate otherwise. I don't see how a person can look at this and not see an issue.

It would be like Justin Blackmon getting out of rehab claiming he's changed and immediately going to a bar.

If the guy really wanted to change, he'd drop the party boy lifestyle and focus on what is important. There are things you can do to get better in the off-season...and getting drunk at a club isn't one of them.

Should he be able to go to the club? Absolutely. Can he in the climate of reality? Most likely not. In a perfect world a lot of things that should be able to happen would, but sadly this is the real world where people love to say they can break stars, especially high profile ones like Manziel.

Nobody's saying he deserve it, but it would behoove him to avoid those places.

To me, it's not that he went to a club - season just ended, he's allowed to have some fun. It's that he returned to the same club a little bit later, after having had an issue there. That's saying that he doesn't care if he has problems, he just wants to have fun.

Bingo. I don't get that either. Is that ego? I.e., something like...."You're not going to chase me out of a club I want to be in."

Well said. I don't know how many times he has said he was going to grow up or change, only to continue to do the same exact things he has always done. It doesn't help that he sucked when he was playing.

earned the right? this is a young man, he just got through with his season and he don't have a right to go out and have a drink if he wants too? how is going to a bar "professional" regardless of how you play? how does anyone know that his trip to the bar wasn't after studying his playbook for hours? he is a kid, in what amounts to his yearly vacation.

-X- thinking JF is being treated unfairly:
Maybe he can take Bradford, Manning, Schaub, Ryan, Rodgers, QBs who are also spotted at nightclubs with patrons who throw drinks.
Hard to compare someone who has a long history of this kind of stuff to those other QBs you mentioned. I think 10 time losers deserve extra scrutiny don't you?

Act like a douche, get treated like a douche. Doesn't really make a difference if you're a QB or a truck driver. He's spent the better part of two years acting like a extra from that reality TV show about douchebags and sluts in Jersey.

He's back "home" and has this happen to him. Isn't he supposed to be really loved back there in Texas? Hahahahaha

This only happens to total dickheads.

I wonder if it was a bunch of chicks who dumped their drinks on him. LOL
He's only loved by the retards at A&M. He's hated by everyone else. I'd throw beer at him too. Classy..I keepz it.
