He had to trade Peters' salary and make room. Plus, how much longer are we gonna have to play this hybrid zone JUST FOR PETERS???

Wade's D requires pressure from the DL and they get there due to man coverage on the WRs.

Finally we have the pieces in place. Not expecting miracles day one, but yeah... this is part of getting where we want to go...

First off it can only be viewed a massive mistake that we traded a 2nd and a fifth for a player that did not fit Wades scheme. That is just bad evaluation on the part of the Rams.

Second I do not see why the Rams did not secure an extension with Ramsey prior to trading for him. Or are we waiting to see if he is a scheme fit after forking over two number ones. Seems reckless to me.

Not sure if the O lineman has played a down yet in the NFL, but how can he possibly be worse than Allen or Demby? (or even Havenstein, if I'm allowed to say that)
I hope the Rams can get something out of Corbett that the Browns couldn't. I think it's possible. It's scary that Corbett couldn't get a look for one of the the worst offensive lines in the NFL.

It really scary that Corbett could be the worst starting OG in the league and still be a net positive for the Rams.

Regardless, I like the deal. There's some upside there and almost no risk. They had to do something.

I'm happy that an attempt was made to savethis season. For me, it was over without a new Olineman. i'd really like two (hear me Les?). Ramsey is just a potential wet dream...

Well, I figure that Les Snead and Demoff know more than any of us about the future roster. IE, I could care less about that argument or the money spent and picks given up. Ramsey is our #1 pick next year...I mean, how much is the 32nd pick worth, anyway?;);)

Worth a cheap top tier talent for 5 years! But hey who’s counting? I want Trent Williams! Let’s give up the 22 1st for him!

Like when Les Snead traded up for Tavon Austin? Or drafted Greg Robinson at #2?

did we just admit our offseason sucked?

I can applaud the roster shuffle but will it work.

I am more excited to see next weeks team than last weeks team :)

Love the Ramsey move, may have given up a bit much. But now Wade has 1 shutdown M2M CB and 1 young and talented M2M CB. Watch for the D to improve greatly, with man coverage and no more 12+ yard cushion zone BS the pass rush will be more effective. If teams try the quick pass game, the CBs will be in position to jump routes and get ints. If QBs hold the ball a tick to long AD and co get sacks. Peters was a liability for the entire D because he was garbage in man coverage and wouldnt tackle.

Dont know much at all about the LB we got, but he has to help the D more than Peters did.

Dont know much about the OL, but as mentioned above nobody is going to trade away a good or better OL, especially to the Rams who are probably 1 or 2 good or better OL away from being back to the Rams we remember.

Losing low 1st round picks isn't a big deal IMO. As long as you have 2nd and 3rd round picks they can find quality players. Besides, Snead has proved he is excellent at drafting in the mid and late rounds. Also when you look at this roster almost all the starters are on the team now. They will be drafting for backup/rotational players for the next few years. This is exactly how the Pats maintain their high level of talent with no high 1st round picks.

The only pressing need is to shore up the o-line. With Corbett they now have a young talented player to hopefully plug in at one of the OG spots. I'm not kidding when I say they need to look long and hard at Havenstein and decide if they want to keep him. IMO he would be a pretty good OG and right now the hole is on the left side. Rob has always been a better run blocker than pass blocker. He's a good enough pass blocker if he doesn't have to move, and he would be a huge upgrade in the run game at LG. Plug Corbett in at RG to end Blythe's inconsistent play, with a true OG. Shore up the RT spot by starting Edwards who IMO has always been destined to take over for Havenstein....now just do it early. This would stop the quick outside pressure, shore up the interior and help the run attack.

The subtraction of an aging Talib and undisciplined Peters and the addition of one of the finest CB's in the NFL with an up and coming David Long and this defense will be totally different. QB's are going to have to hold it longer and then face AD, Dante and Brockers/Ebukam's pass rush.

With Young they may have finally found their fast ILB which has been the most obvious of holes. Reeder is still developing, and both Young and Reeder are very similar in their athleticism and speed. In many ways they are bookends. But Young might be a bit more polished in his game right now.

How can you not love the move Snead has made. I love a GM who won't stand pat in the face of mediocrity. Unlike most IMO the offense has struggled but it was the defense that needed to step up and could only do so inconsistently. Jalen and Young are huge additions and will allow the front 4 to really turn things up.

Oh yeah I'm stoked!

Okay. SO basically noone can have an opinion on this board including you. Guess we all have nothing to post about. Might as well shut down the board. Right?

The silver lining?

We play the 1-5 Falcons next week and the 0-6 Bengals the week after.
And then a bye.

hopefully we get some players back by the end of the bye and we’ll have 3 wins more to get ready for this push into the late season, starting in Pittsburgh.

No, not okay. Quit putting words in my mouth. You can have any opinion you want, but don't be butthurt when someone says "I'll trust the guys who get paid," more than you. It's always gonna be that way.

I love moving Peters as a salary dump first off. He is not a bad player. But he doesn't leave it all on the field and it's a shame when you have guys like Aaron Donald playing next to him. If that was the only move I would have applauded it.

Corbett was a move with very little risk but some upside. He's a young lineman (24) who can add some competition from outside the locker room. Not sure he's going to cut it of course but it's one of those under the radar deals that could pay off.

And Ramsey I of course like the move in terms of his ability which is elite. But I fear he might be an a$$clown so hopefully Snead gets here what he wanted with Peters.

This was a very good day for us. They just have to hit on Ramsey.

Its a silly comment. So dont get butthurt when someone tells you that. I mean I could say that about every negative comment someone makes about the Rams. Well you dont get paid so I wont consider your comment. Why even have dialogues then? We should all just stop posting. Seriously its not butt hurt. It was just a dumb remark on your part. Sorry if that offends you.

I called the first two moves much needed wake up calls.

The Ramsey trade is a bust the door down, knock the windows out, deal.

Awful lot to pay for a CB. I prefer spending the big money/draft capital elsewhere -- like LT, or premier pass rushing DL's. But, it's not possible to argue with McVay's/Snead's success at building a formidable roster.

I sure do love the message it sends to the players. "You get the job done or we will be getting someone who can."
