Rams Until I Die
Pro Bowler
Happy thanksgiving to all! I’m thankful for this season enjoy everyone!
Where in RI did you live?Yes - very happy Thanksgiving to all!
I grew up in Rhode Island..been a fan since Roman Gabriel was anchored in the pocket tossing the ball. (Maybe I confused the URI Rams with LA Rams at the time - who knows!?!). At that time the nearby team that shall be nameless, sucked. Followed the Rams casually until around 1999 when thanks to the Internet was able to keep up much better.... Anyway, been living outside of Portland, OR in Washington now for a few decades... went to LA Coliseum a couple of weeks ago for my first ever Rams game... THAT won't be the last one, either!!
Cheers to all today!
I can't recall if the Rams ever played on Thanksgiving Day. I can't recall them ever doing so, going back to 1980. Anyone know if they ever have?
I grew up in Westerly, until I joined the Navy and left in the early 70's... And you ?Where in RI did you live?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! See you at the Eagles game in about a month. View attachment 27156
This is funny... it reminds me of the NFC Championship Game in The STL when we played the eagles.
I flew up for that one and tailgated with some serious season ticket holders. They had a very nice spread for a tailgate. One guy deep fried a turkey and it was a big hit. He kept the carcass sitting there on the table after most of the meat was picked clean.
Game time was approaching and many fans were making their way into the dome. We were all still pounding adult beverages. That's when a large group of eagle fans walked right by us on their way in. The guy who fried the turkey called out to them right after they passed us on the street. They all turned around... and guess what they saw flying in the air towards them? That's right... the turkey carcass! That thing landed several feet in front of them in the street and made a kinda gross sound as it hit the pavement and slid right at them. It came to a stop before it got too close to them and basically was falling apart.
That's when our turkey frying guy screams over to them... "THAT'S GONNA BE YOU GUYS AFTER WE FINISH WITH YOU!!!"
You should have seen their faces as they turned and walked away without really saying anything. They may have said something... but if they did, I couldn't hear it because of the extreme laughter coming from everyone in our group. My stomach hurt till the end of the 1st quarter from laughing so hard.
Good Times!
