They mention 2 games like GZ, but I remember getting beat by 5 short field goals twice, in ATL, in 1978 and 1973. They didn't hit any long ones, but talk about furstrating/

In outscoring the powerful Broncos by his lonesome, Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein has earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the third time in his career.

Zuerlein, who connected on all five field goals in the Rams’ 22-7 win vs. Denver on Sunday, received the conference’s weekly special teams award from the NFL on Wednesday. A third-year pro, Zuerlein hit from 37, 29, 22, 55 and 53 yards, with the longest kicks in the fourth quarter, adding to the lead for underdog St. Louis.

Zuerlein also did the job on the kickoffs, with 5-of-7 going for touchbacks. The two returns went for a combined 24 yards.

According to the league, Zuerlein is only the third kicker in NFL history to hit at least five field goals in a game and not miss a single attempt while connecting on at least two field goals of 53 yards or more.

The Rams (4-6) play at San Diego on Sunday. The Chargers’ punter, Mike Scifres, was recognized as the AFC special teams player of the week on Wednesday.

Greg Zuerlein wins NFC Special Teams honor

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- As a rookie, St. Louis Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein made a habit of winning awards for his powerful right leg. He took home a pair of Special Teams Player of the Week honors in Week 4 and Week 13 of the 2012 season.

Zuerlein did it again Wednesday when he was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his work in the Rams' 22-7 win against the Denver Broncos last week. Zuerlein connected on all five of his field goal tries, including makes from 55 and 53 yards to help ice the game in the fourth quarter. He also made his only extra point attempt to finish with 16 points on the day, a new career high.

A big day from Zuerlein was a good sign after he had a couple of hiccups against the Kansas City Chiefs a few weeks ago. In that game, Zuerlein mis-hit a kickoff that Knile Davis returned 99 yards for a touchdown and missed a 38-yard field goal attempt. At that point, Zuerlein had been making 77.2 percent of his field goals since a perfect 15-of-15 start in the first five weeks of 2012. He'd also made just five-of-14 tries from beyond 50 yards in that span.

But Zuerlein has been back on his game since that loss to the Chiefs. He's now converted seven field goals in a row, including a pair of key kicks that help beat San Francisco in Week 9.

For the season, Zuerlein is 15-of-18 on field goals and has made all 20 of his extra point attempts.

When Greg is playing well, there's no better kicker. He needs to carry this onto other games. Great stat by the way, and that picture is awesome, he's doing Jedi mind tricks on the ball.

My goodness, where do they come up with some of these ridiculous stats ???? I'll check and see if anybody has blown his nose in each oif the first 3 quarters then shit himself in the 4th while being hammered by both of the Mcsafeties at the same time...OOOHHHH, makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up just thinking about time...Kudos to the Leg, BTW...The 5 alone might not have done it, but the last 2 both being over 50 and important probably sealed the deal...

I used to work for the Radio City Rockettes.
I was a camera op for their show for three Christmas seasons. (nov.1 to jan.1)

Best gig ever. So many girls... twice as many legs. One year some of the girls made 200 jello shots for the opening night after-party. Debauchery ensued.

True story.

rhinobean liking those legs:
The Rockettes These gals are athletes! Took the wife, 2 daughters and teenage granddaughter to see them 2 years ago! Great show even if some of the music was corny.
I've seen them myself. What's not to like? (y)
