I really hope they rest Him. Cj anderson plus Kelly plus goff and o line playing well should be enough to beat the cards. I am also hoping for a big game from our defense as the cards are the worst offense in the league. Gurley needs to be 100% for the game against the niners and playoffs.

Sounds like Gurley will need a scope in the offseason. Hope he can function until it gets cleaned up.

There is no need to play Gurley in the last 2 regular season games unless he is 100%. By all accounts he is not close to 100% this week so Anderson/Kelly need to carry the load. If need be I could see taking a little more of a chance in the playoffs but hopefully that is 3 weeks away.

They've already made the decision to sit him, but they say gametime to keep the opposition guessing who to prepare for. Nothing strange.

This is your theory? Or did you get this from somewhere?

I guess that is a common take in the media?

Ahh I see... most the talking heads are taking McVay's past actions to assume that Gurley will sit last two games.

Could be.. we will see.

I don’t think there would be any question if Brown wasn’t out. Gurley would sit his one out.

I think we can game plan without Gurley in this one, but I worry most about protections. Gurley is so good there it’s often overshadowed by how good he is with the ball.

I’ve seen people say Goff is now a one read QB who can’t handle pressure. It’s actually hilarious what people continue to come up with.
Watch the Chargers last night....Rivers looked the same.
Get pressure on Brady and Brees and they become average pretty quickly.
It is a rare thing to have a QB that excels vs pressure and blitzing. Warner did one way....reading the D, standing in the pocket and knowing pre snap where the open guy was. Rogers and Wilson do it another, escaping with their legs, keeping their eyes downfield and throwing on the run with great touch.
Almost every other QB gets happy feet and either forces the ball, takes check downs or takes sacks.
The best way to shut down great receivers is getting pressure up the middle on the QB.
All of that said, Goff is still learning. He does not see open receiver sometimes....sometimes guys right in front of him. But, he is young and still growing. The growth in his game from year 1 to now has been massive. I would expect continued growth. But with ALL things....learning to read, ride a bike, cooking, lifting weights, running a business and everything else....growth comes from struggle. If everything went right every time there would be no cause for growth. Growth also slows the closer you get to the completed product.
Beginner gains is a real thing.
So, it's a process.
People making determinations about Goff at this is just plain silly.

Tom Brady has shown to be terrible under pressure in his career. Just give Goff time and he will show his true self.

Yep, I agree.
The Pats O now is designed to keep pressure and hits away from Brady.
This is a smart approach.
The dink and dunk passing game is frustrating to watch but it is perfect for their personal....including Princess Tom.
