Gruden is a no-lose situation.

Either way, win or lose, he retires a mega-millionaire.

One way he can lose, is to flop and ruin his stellar reputation. Sure a 100 million is an enormous amount of money but the guy already makes 6 - 7 million a year. How much money does someone need to live comfortably. Hell never spend it half of it before he dies.

He could have stayed in media and gone out as a legend. It is fitting that he will be coaching in Vegas, because he is gambling with his reputation.

Now it makes sense why Gruden 4 days ago said “I hope I am a candidate’”, when asked about the Raiders job.

I guarantee you Gruden named his price at 100 million, and Davis About shit some bricks and said he would sleep on it.

Gruden’s work in Tampa didn’t impress me. He is definitely not a top tier coach.

I look forward to the Chuckie Dolls and all but I predict more hype than substance.

I think getting the Raiders back to playoff level would be rather easy though. Derek Carr is a legit QB.

This kind of reminds me of that crazy Steve Young contract the USFL gave him.

They used the numbers to get him to sign and get publicity for the league but they knew he'd never get paid out that much money.
