GZ was so important to the Rams, it can't be understated, IMHO.

Before his loss, the Super Bowl was a real goal.

Now, I'm just not on board. You can't lose the highest scoring player in the NFL, with a team who already has obvious weaknesses, and just carry on. I expected a drop off but the Titans game was a showcase of how important he was.

Field position and decision making has been drastically altered.

Game plan is altered.

I want the Rams to go deep, but because of this loss, I don't think they will.

We had the best ST in the NFL. Now we don't.

It's about to get very real and we won't be counting on touchbacks and points every time we cross the 40. It's huge.

This isn't about the new kicker, God speed to him, we lost a value that few are acknowledging. It's massive. Game changing. Season changing.

This next game, I would let the new kicker kick every single time we were within range. Get him acclimated. Get him comfortable. Or get him out.

Every team has issues at this point in the year due to injuries. Hopefully, Ficken or a new Kicker are able to do just enough to be competent.

All it means is that the O is going to have to be a little more aggressive going for 7 and not take it for granted that we're going to get 3 once we're in FG range

In some respect that might be good.... can't settle for the "playing not to lose" mentality in the playoffs which a young coach might fall into that trap.... he can't think that way now.

Kudos for saying what many of us fear, but are reluctant to say.

Curious to see if they stick with Ficken or go in another direction.

Really hope that the poor conditions in Tenn magnified the loss of GZ.

The team felt completely different without him. There used to be a calm confidence that we had 3 points once we crossed the 40 yard line and now we are holding our breathe on extra points and kick offs.

I'm shocked by how many people in the Ficken thread were not concerned.

The guy is a complete liability and the most likely are knocked out the playoffs now. I just don't understand how there is no better options at kicker than FIcken man. I was confident in the SB now not so much because the divisional round and championship game your going to need clutch reliable kicking.

Let's take the Tennessee game. Making that FG and extra point doesn't change the aspect of the game of time etc. just score. We would of been up 2 scores which would of meant the Titans on their final drive had to throw it for a TD, no middle routes and no runs just drive down and score and get the ball back which changes the aspect of our defense and puts the %'s in our favor.

I'm usually level headed about things but this is a HUUUUUUGE freaking issue man. I'm praying Ficken wipes vs the Whiners and a get a decent kicker to get us over the top. Maybe I'm just dreaming but looking at his body language he doesn't look like he's is all there mentally even before the misses or after them.

Other aspects of the team have to do more. It's the playoffs and no team is as healthy as they would like. We just beat a possible playoff team away from home without GZ. It wasn't pretty, but not all wins will be pretty. The Rams have only lost one game away from home (pretty fukkin impressive).

We have won. We will CONTINUE to win.

When shit hits the fan, we don't focus on the shit, we just clean it off and keep going.

McVay isn't focusing on it, he accepts the reality of the situation and keeps finding solutions to problems.

He is solution oriented, so don't fear mates. The ship will sail on.
