A blast from the not so distant past. Salas is only 26 and was drafted by the Spagnuolo regime in 2011.

Lions sign Chris Owens, Greg Salas
Posted by Josh Alper on May 13, 2015

The Lions restructured safety Glover Quin’s contract to give them a bit more room under the salary cap and they’ve used some of that money to add a pair of veterans to the roster.

Detroit announced Wednesday that they have signed cornerback Chris Owens and wide receiver Greg Salas. The team also signed wide receiver Lance Moore on Tuesday.

Salas had eight catches for the Jets last season and also had a 20-yard touchdown run in his second year with the team. He’s also spent time with the Eagles, Patriots and Rams, who drafted him in the fourth round of the 2011 draft. He’ll join Moore, Ryan Broyles, T.J. Jones and Jeremy Ross in the battle for reserve spots.

Jesus man, some guys I wasn't surprised keep finding jobs in the NFL.

But Salas is not one of them, i am confused on how the guy keeps getting jobs.

He can run routes and he makes the difficult catches...now those easy one's, that's another story.

I still can't fathom how he can catch those difficult ones and miss the give me's to this day....

I thought he was going to do really well, and was kinda disappointed when the Rams cut him. I thought he was better than Pettis who the Rams kept. Prolific college production. 119 catches for 1889 yards and 14 TDs his senior year. I don't care what league you're in, that's impressive.

Not a shifty guy who'll make too many people miss, but just turns the ball upfield with conviction and gets all of what's there.

PS - y'all notice who he caught that back shoulder fade against at 2:32?

Watching his video I think his skill set compares closely to Sassers. I don't think Salas is what the Rams need right now.

It was Boise State. The only decent corner I can remember coming out when Salas did was Wilson.
