Considering their opponent they did their job. I mean, all week I thought we were playing the 85' Bears. Stafford played his ass off.
This Seattle defense was all time historically great. And Stafford went into their stadium twice within the last month and absolutely torched them. 830 yards passing, 6 TDs, no picks.

I hope they don't say F them picks we've been drafting well lately and can keep going on it. There are a couple free agents that we can pick up and if they finally value CB and ILB we can be a dominant team next year with the picks we have and the cap we have.

That said I agree with OP it was a good season I enjoyed it and look forward to the offseason and seeing the Rams become better.
What free agents would you like?

Alonte Taylor is one at CB. I haven't looked too much at OT's but one of those along with a pick to develop. I'd have to look at free agents that can return kicks if not I have my eye on a couple WR that can fill the bill. And we're likely going to have to either bring in a safety or two vets or retain some of ours. Our free agent CB can all go away same with Darious Williams.
Geno Stone is a safety worth looking at as is Joshua Williams.

Interesting plan. I hadn't thought about pursuing WR or OT. I like the thought.

On safety, I'd prefer to retain Curl than bringing in someone new.

We really have as a whole.
This past draft the jury is still out. So far Stewart has been closest to what you would hope for from his draft position and KM has done well for a 7th but none have really stood out.

still looks promissing but short on evidence

I keep seeing members say how great the 2021 defense was. I recall a lot of complaints that Morris was too "soft", but the fact is that Shula is basically playing the same defense. bend but don't break. IMO, the difference is that the 2021 Rams slumped in the middle of the season but played their best football towards the end of the season (we almost lost an epic comeback to Brady) but they prevailed.

This year's Rams played their best ball mid season. After finally getting to the top seed position, they lost to the shit hawks on that 2 point conversion play. IMO, there's no way the whistle didn't blow. That's why Charbonet casually picked up the ball after the play was over. But it is what it is.

For all the whining about ST, some forget how remarkable the improvement was in our kicking game with the additions of Jake MCQuaide and Harrison Mevis. What, Mevis missed one kick all year, by a few inches?

I believe the Rams have had the lowest paid defense for perhaps 3 years in a row? Invest some $ and picks in the secondary and we should be much improved.

Hindsight is 20/20... but Seahawks improved greatly at the trade deadline with the addition of Rashid Shaheed. Rams added McCreary, but he didn't move the needle. Looking back, I wonder what would have happened if the Rams had invested draft capital in exchange for a CB? We made some "splash" additions at the trade deadline to bolster the D for a SB run in both 2018 (Dante Fowler) and 2021 (Von Miller), but this year we played it safe.

Future looks extremely bright. Stafford is coming back, Rams are in a great salary cap position, they have two 1st round picks, and McVay is a HOF coach.

Yes, disappointed that we didn't go all the way, but this was a hugely successful season. Rams will be one of the leading contenders in 2026.

This was an excellent season. Disappointing ending.. and regrettable that they had to play on the road. Weird stuff cost them the homefield advantage as much as the deficiencies they had in the secondary and special teams. Touchdown taken away in Seattle... punch to the head missed against 9ers... weird-ass two point conversion nonsense.

The big thing that I've felt this season is that the Rams have become a true program... a REAL organization.

Have they made mistakes? Yup!! But.. man, still a lot of fun to watch.

They've got resources available to be better next year... and I hope they can make it happen.

It was a fun season overall. But I can't help but think that they let a golden oppro slip this year. 12-5 record and all 5 losses were inexcusable. This game could've been in Sofi but the Rams didn't cherish the leads they built. And somehow failed to learn from that.

Only one team is happy at the end of the year. That's it. At 63 I have come to enjoy good seasons no matter the outcome. This was a really good season.

This team was special but did have some big flaws that chased them all year and finally did them in.

But that does not erase the great performances(Stafford, Nacua, Adams)and exciting wins.

Am I disappointed? Of course.

But it is far from the biggest thing in life. This will sting awhile, then it is on to next year.

Still my team...always. Go Rams!

If it wasn't a fantastic season, we wouldn't all be this upset about how it finished.

I dont have the knowledge to blame a coach like shula, or ST. It looked like the D did very well in lots of games, but obviously had issues in the secondary. Something seemed to click with curl and durant, and then clicked off again.
ST was a joke, getting a faster, very accurate kicker clearly helped but the rest still struggles to hold back the opposition, only saved by Mevis speed.

If the offence comes back next season, the same I will be happy. (Stafford etc)

1 prediction, Stafford says if he's not playing for the Rams, he's not playing football anymore!

1 crazy idea, make TuTu the punt returner, I want to see it more lol

I know this is the anti vent thread but I don’t think it was a great season because despite all the flaws the Rams are the best team in the league this year and should have won the SB hands down.

If they were the best team in the nfl they would be in the superbowl. They're weren't good enough.

All their losses were carbon copies of each other. Bonehead mistakes every time. Great teams don't make them in big games.

Well that's my point. They didnt lose games because of defense, talent, scheme etc. They lost games over stupid mistakes, time and time again. I dont know how that gets fixed. The SB is a layup this year for the NFC with KC out and no team beat the Rams other than the Rams
