I think his route running allows him to get open just fine.
Its not his fault that he has mostly been behind Sammy Watkins on a run-first team with crap QBs who cant go through progressions or put the ball where it needs to be for the WR to catch it.

No, he isnt Torry Holt or Isaac Bruce, but he isnt Brandon Gibson either.

I know the national media has been down on this signing. But I'm intrigued with Woods. As a starter he didn't get a bunch of targets. What is the reason? Was it they didn't consider him worthy of the targets? Was it because he couldn't get open enough? Or was it because their system didn't value his position as much?

Wood is already the best route runner and hands guy on the team without even stepping on the field. I think he can do a lot better if they put more value and focus on him. Give him the amount of targets other 1000 yard receivers get and I think his numbers would be similar.

3/13/2017: Signed a two-year, $8 million contract. Another $4 million is available through incentives.
Yes sir, I saw that part, I didn't see the specific break down and whether we can get out after one year without a cap hit, like Woods contract.

Looks like the Woods deal is the big deal to attack. The fact that he is going on 25 and is signed long term gives Goff a potential long time connection. Goff and the Rams need that. Those one and two year deals won't cut it here for aging vets. He will run routes from anywhere and blocks too. McVay knows he can get Woods right into the offense.
