I don't wanna let Barron go. Mainly bc I don't wanna face Barron on another team.
plus he can play multiple positions well. excellent tackler. actually the whole team is now. just a few seasons back, the normal post would include the terms "poor angles" and "weak arm tackling". not now.I wouldn't call a 4th and 6th round pick "a premium"
but we definitely got a premium in return![]()
I have to disagree, WCR.
Barron's play has elevated him into "must keep" status. The Rams will never allow such a playmaker to get away. He's playing at a Pro Bowl level now. Literally. Such players are retained by smart FO's. And Demoff, Snead, and Fisher constitute a smart FO.
The good news is that he may not cost quite an arm and a leg due to his special "hybrid" status. He fits beautifully in GW's schemes, but not so much in some others. In addition, I think he really likes what he sees in the rest of our D and sees our team trajectory as a positive in resigning.
OL picks may create another category, hopefullyWell, that and the ability to judge running back talent.
Quite honestly, I consider Barron every bit as valuable as Jenkins. Maybe even more so because of his versatility. You can devise several packages that Barron can excel in. GW has done a great job with that. And he'll command less money than Jenkins. If you can't keep both I say re-sign Barron. The money you save can bring depth and let's not forget about Gaines. If keeping Jenkins is gonna break the bank, I say let him walk and promote one of the youngsters. But don't let Barron walk.
