http://www.bucsnation.com/2016/3/11...caneers-want-a-high-third-round-pick-for-mike

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are open to trading Mike Glennon, for the right price. What that right price isn't clear, though. An earlier report said the Bucs wouldn't even take a first-round pick, but that seems ludicrous. Bleacher Report's Matt Miller talked to several personnel executives who say the Bucs would take a high third-round pick, instead.

After Colin Kaepernick, the quarterback most teams are interested in on the trade block is Mike Glennon. I'm told by multiple general managers and pro personnel directors that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have floated that they want a first-round draft pick for him, but would accept a third from a team with a high pick in the round.

This makes a lot more sense than the report that the Bucs wouldn't take a first-round pick for Glennon, a quarterback who has exactly one year left on his contract and will only start games this season if Jameis Winston has to miss any due to suspension or injury -- which seems unlikely at this point, though stranger things have happened.

So far, teams haven't been quite desperate enough to arrange a trade for Glennon. They've traded for Mark Sanchez, and there are rumors that Colin Kaepernick is on the trade block as well. But teams interested in a quarterback can still draft a quarterback, and as long as that's a realistic option you're unlikely to see big trade deals. When a team misses out on a quarterback, that's when things will really get interesting.

The Rams don't have a high third, of course - either the Bucs would take slightly less, the Rams could kick something in, or the Rams could trade a second to another team, get a high third and some lower picks, and then trade the third to TB for Glennon. Should they do so?

I'd rather roll with Keenum. Or Mannion for that matter and surround them with weapons.

Is his upside really so much higher than Keenums for the loss of a third?

Id like us to take a flyer on Jaylon Smith with that third if no one else has taken the gamble on that torn up knee. Even if not ther are a lot of talented guys still going to be around in that round we could use. I like Glennon but I don't think he's that much better than Case to be worth that. A 5th? Maybe. If they take Foles also...

F that... I agree @JackDRams no way in hell I trade anything but a 5th or down for him. What more do you get for him than what Keenum or Mannion is?

I wrote about this in a thread about a week or 2 ago. I would definitely do this deal.

I would offer a 4th this year and a a conditional next year based on games played and other benchmarks.

He was a 3rd rounder to begin with i think and when he has played has played well. He also has 2 years left on his rookie deal so you get him for 2 years in his rookie contract. So for this reason I think Tampa's asking price is right where it should be.

Unless the Rams really like Mannion they should do this deal and I hope for 1 they do

I'll send Foles to them for their first round pick.

Is my proposal more rediculous than theirs? I swear, all these teams overvaluing guys. I like Keenum better and he knows our system.

I like Keenum, I just suspect Glennon's high end is higher than his. Mannion would be the big question - perhaps Snisher thinks he is ready to take a leap forward.

Keenum, Glennon and Mannion would be an interesting QB competition at least.

I would rather the Rams not do the sort of trade I think would be necessary to get Goff or Wentz this year.

Nah. I like Glennon but this isn't the right environment and it wouldn't solve our problems. Denver is a team that should consider trading for Glennon.

We appear to be committed to "build through the draft", let's stay the course.

I think Case could run our offense better. If we want a stork at QB, we might as well draft Lynch but I'd rather not. No way we should be fooled into trading for someone else's leftovers when we have few picks this year as it is.

Any moves I would make this year would be to get another 1 or 2 so that I can get to Watson ( first choice) or the kid out of Miami. I think they are a level above Wentz and Goff and maybe equal to Winton/Mariota

I also believe Glennon's tape is better than Keenun's. More wins better productions. I would trade for him, trade or cut Foles ( to Tampa Bay LOL) and draft another QB this year ( and every year to we hit this right.

I like Glennon and think he is better than Keenum. The Bucs are saying they want him to drive up the price.they know his normal worth but also figure if someone is asking at this point, then they will pay more.

Once again, it depends on what Snishers plan is. Don't draft a QB? Then I'd bring in Glennon to up the competition. If they are going to move up for a rookie QB, then don't.

My observation about this regime...High profile free agents like Jake Long and Jared Cook did not pan out so they won't spend a ton of money on in their eyes other teams failures Kevin Demoff even eluded to this in his recent presentation.

IMO because the trade of Foles did not work out again they won't pursue a trade this regime has always felt the proper way to build a team is through the draft and that's why IMO, that is where the future Field General of the Los Angeles Rams will emerge, for better or worse.

Glennon is the guy I wanted the Rams to grab for a couple years now (besides Tebow :D). A third seems high, but last year we grabbed Mannion in the third and he hasn't done anything yet, he doesn't even get the reps in practice. If we throw a third at Glennon, we get someone who I personally think will be better than anyone we get in the third in this class of qb's. With the Rams dedicated to Keenum, I don't see them going after any qb's higher than the third, so what are we really losing?
