McVay should just flat out fire him, IMO. When’s his contract up? That’s how Phillips was ushered out. Either way he needs to go.
Nah, get somebody else to hire him so we get the third round picks. If that fails, then fire him.

Oh there are tingles but it's usually from the numbness I feel watching our Rams shit the bed consistently. It's gotten so bad I'm not reacting anymore. Pretty much just waiting for the 49ers to get officially knocked out because as long as that happens, I'll feel much much much much much better.
Niners get knocked out and it's time for the Spanish Fly?

@Loyal Does that Spanish Fly shit really work? I could use some on my wife if it does.

I still cant get over Wolford throwing short to a wide open Atwell down the sideline, missing a sure TD. Any other QB in the league makes that throw. Well maybe all of them except Perkins.

if there’s a silver lining to this it’s exposed to McVay the weakness in his back up QB strategy. I’m curious to see what he does this off season to address it.

Quality vet back up QBs are expensive and a luxury. Now that doesn't mean you can't dig up a young guy who at least has a skillet to compete. They need to at least attempt to find the latter.

Jimmy suffered the injury we all knew was coming. If it knocks him out for the year, their goose is probably cooked.

Yes I just saw that and I'm so fuckin stoked cuz fuck that team. Try to emulate our Rams and not get a chip, I love it. No way they win with a 7th round rookie.

Could have traded a 6th round pick for Gardner Minshew a couple years ago and been set at the position with a cheap guy.

What I don't understand is Wade Phillips was let go because they wanted more than a mediocre defense. So now they are okay with Morris who refuses to attack with his star studded roster and only plays his buddies, benching Rochell and Durant while Kendrick continues to make mistake after mistake.

How many passes need to be completed to WRs simply outrunning Derion for Morris to understand the kid is too fucking slow to play as a boundary CB. He struggles even in zone because he lacks the quickness to respond. All his tests showed he lacked explosiveness. They drafted him to be a backup not a starter. Durant keeps showing his explosiveness and Morris keeps sending him back to the bench. You all saw it for yourselves today. It makes me sick to keep watching it when there are better players on the roster. This is why he got fired in Atlanta and why not even a sniff for a HC interview.

Still funny looking back to all the people backing Wolford as an NFL QB :D
Including McVay who started him over (injured thumb) Goff against Seattle in the Wild Card game two years ago. Fortunately, Wolford quickly took himself out of that one and Goff and the Rams won. But McVay has kept Wolford on the roster.

Also a bit funny looking back at those who totally trashed Atwell. It now seems that he can actually run routes, get open, catch the ball, and make or threaten to make game changing plays. Just not with Wolford trying to throw him the ball down field.

Still mysterious to me why McVay didn't give Tutu more chances sooner with Stafford, when the passing game and all the receivers not named Kupp were struggling. Why not?

Also mysterious that Akers suddenly looks like a running back again. And that Rams have suddenly discovered that Powell can play.

It's called coaching failures. Morris ignores more talented guys to favor his friends. Not coaching up Tutu until they had no option. Playing guys out of position. Why did Morris stick with Lewis even though even a fan like me could see Hoecht was a better fit. He still doesn't like to play Jonah Williams regularly, but when he does it should be in rotation with Hoecht. Hoecht is a DE he's not a complete OLB yet and he's struggles in coverage yet Morris drops him into coverage. Michael needs to be coached up in that aspect. They should coach up Williams to play as a WIL behind Hoecht. He has the speed to play it, he's 6'5" with 4.6 speed. Either that or play him as a 3T behind AD. His speed and power would overwhelm most OGs.

Powell could be a RB and only now they are seeing he can run and catch. Powell entered college as a RB and switched to WR/returner in order to make the team. But it's clear he still has the skills to play RB in this system. He seems to have very good field vision which is a must. His vision looks to be better than Aker's as he sees the holes where Akers misses many. With the log jam next year at WR it would be smart to switch Powell to RB.

IMO McVay needs to take a long hard look at his staff and IMO changes should start there.

Game day experience - awesome!!! There's not a bad seat in that place.

Either the seabags played down to the expectation, or the 2nd stringers played a great game. Much more entertaining that I initially expected.

Unfortunately, they left too much time for Raheem to deal with, using the slacker defense.

I was really hopeful that Perkins would turn things around - and I think he played well, but when wolfy was revived, he came back in. I think that was a mistake.

And that last pass.... Was too whom??? Totally sucked the air out of the place on that one - though it was likely over anyway.

McVay really had his head up his ass trying to push Wolford as an alternative to Goff. IMO, it was an example of stubbornness and frustration getting the best of him.

One true failures of the McVay era is his inability to draft a mid to late round QB who could be a quality back up and potential future starter.

Shanahan drafted Purdy this yr in the 7th...last pick of the draft, and the kid played great today and at least has the tools to play in the league.
Neither Perkins nor Wolford have shown those qualities and they have been on this roster for 3 yrs now.

Why can't McVay see that and why is he not trying to find a quality back up to develop? You would think a guy who came from Washington and watched Cousins emerge and surpass RG3, you would think he would realize the potential a quality mid round QB can bring to an organization.

Exactly right. McVay let his emotions take over.
