Yep that’s what I mean. When McVay first got here and didn’t play starters inpreseason, I was against it because they may need to knock off the rust once the season began. Now I’m all in favor of sitting starters in preseason.
Same here. If done right our starters can be prepared in a controlled environment.
Even if they come out a little rusty for a couple of series, in the over all scheme of the season it's no big deal.
I have yet seen a situation in game 1 where I thought a lack of preseason was a factor.
The thing that really puts me over the bar in favor of the process is the amount
of playing time our depth gets. Once coaches go over the film in these games
I think they get a much clearer picture of what they have and better body of
work in which to decide who they need to hold on to and who to let go.
