I was really surprised by that offensive play-calling after the Cardinals went up.

You have to run the ball for several reasons.
You need to slow the game down a bit, you might want to eat some time off the clock, and you certainly don't want to turn the ball over immediately after three incomplete passes.

McVay is like a kid who wants to get all of the points back in under 30 seconds and that's not going to happen.

Sometimes you have to grind it out on the ground and we certainly have the backs to do that.

2nd half defense. Bend, don't fall to pieces!

Like I said this week I would install Juju in Rapp's spot.
I don't disagree, players have to be held accountable. Morris seems like the type of guy, kind of like Kromer, leaving guys in because he likes them.

Morris is going to have to quit with his kumbaya routine after this game. By that I mean if guys like Kupp are gonna fail to make plays you gotta be the leader and make the change.

McVay's not gonna fire his buddy DC midseason. So if Morris has to change players out to be able to win in his play calling so be it. But don't keep trotting out the same dudes who are fucking up and expect better results.

If they give the ball back to us twice in the second half then I'm confident we can win.

AD & Jalen need to step it up - let's get some pressure on Kyler Smurfy.

That’s who I’m looking at as well to turn this D around. Doesn’t have to be perfect but an AD strip sack changes everything

So why mention goff at all he is gone playing for a different team all that matter is the team out there now

Just mentioning I would feel we were hosed with Goff. Stafford is known for comebacks, so we'll see if that holds?

I wont mention Goff's name again. I didn't mean to strike a nerve.

How's he doing anyway? :) okay last one.

Not throwing in the towel.

Realistically, losing the turnover battle 0-2 makes it tough. This division is brutal this year.

Stafford has played his worst game as a Ram, Kupp dropped a few, and we got away from the run, which was working the well for us. So far the offense today has looked mediocre.

Cards team is better than last year, but if they can't stop the run they won't win it all this year, IMO, unless they can play every playoff game at home in warm weather.

Not sure what to make of our defense. D line seems to be playing OK, especially against the run. Linebackers, I expected, would be our biggest weakness, but they haven't played terribly - a bit inconsistently at times, maybe. Secondary, other than Ramsey, has been the weak link so far.

On Morris, it's early, but this hire surprised me. I thought we would go for someone from the same defensive scheme tree, or a young up and comer (sort of a defensive McVay, which I saw in Staley a bit, just in terms of innovation). Not sure cover 2 is suitable for today's game, and in the most famous version (TB in my opinion) there was always a dominant safety and lots of speedy but strong LBs. Not sure this bendy defense is going to cut it.

They're not showing the game in SWMO but I just skimmed the stats. The biggest thing I saw is the Cards are winning the turnover battle 2-0. That's probably why they have a little more offense as well, more first downs. So the Rams have to get a takeaway or two the second half to balance that out. Ball security is vital.
You're right that the turnovers are a big part of it. But I will say that even without the turnovers we have our hands full with this team.

Rams gotta be better on defense to play with them.

Can't think Burgess is some sort of savior. The guy has hardly played at all...probably for a reason.

And yeah JJ>Rapp
Hill>Long

Salary cap is a bitch, but it is what it is

Gotta play very good football against the better teams. That was not good football overall in the first half. Make the adjustments, and stay with the plan. I’m looking for the Rams to buck up and give them a run.

Disappointed in the D and the QB... Don't get me wrong, Stafford is very good, but starting to see that he is not close to being in Rogers or Mahomes class.

And D is not being disciplined in their pass rush.

True but the defense is the bigger concern long term.
What is painful in this game is that we're simply seeing what happens when a defense that lets opponents drive the field runs into an offense that can finish drives.

Green Bay would do the same shit to us tbh. So will some other top offenses out there. If we want to be a deep playoff team this defense needs to get a LOT better.
