But I just read that he spent all year last year learning directly from Shanahan the elder on how to read defenses, and the "why" of all the offensive plays. I don't think the why on any of them is to throw it to the defense.

Jimmy G is never going to be a low INT QB but with Shanny drawing it up and calling the offense he will put up big numbers (barring injury). Unfortunately for him he will be witnessing the birth of a dominant Rams defense this season. Good luck with that MFer. 
Bumping this because G-String Jimmy has thrown 1 interception and should have had another in his first 2 series this preseason.
Well, they pulled G-String out already here in the 1st quarter. Here's his amazing stat line for the night:

He has always been a turnover machine. Glad to see the whiners have such a poor GM and the HC doesnt know what he wants in a QB. Should keep them in the cellar for a few more years if not longer.
It is really enjoyable to lurk on the 49er forum tonight. Half of them are turning on Jimmy G and all of them are turning on Joe Staley.

Not only did he throw an INT, but the Broncos' DB dropped what would have been a pick 6 on the next series. Little pressure on Jimmy and he morphs into a football dispenser.
