Yep!

Shohei Ohtani holds the highest yearly contract in sports by average annual value (AAV), making $70 million per season over his 10-year, $700 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. [1, 2, 3]
On a total contract basis, Juan Soto’s 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets represents the largest overall guarantee in sports history. Across other major leagues, the top yearly earners by AAV include: [1]
  • NFL: Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs) at $64 million per year.
  • NBA: Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics) at $62.8 million per year.
  • Soccer: Cristiano Ronaldo's deal with Al Nassr pays him an estimated $200M to $300M annually.
  • Formula 1: Drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen pull in an estimated $55 million per year. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
More impressive than the top contract to me is the run of mill players contracts.
Not rookie deals but middle of road veteran deals.

Agreed, that is more a thing here in the U.S
A rising tide lifts all boats philosophy and strong players unions.
It is crazy how much money barely contributing depth players make.

Is England's manager related to Raheem Morris? As soon as they got the lead they went into a defensive shell and played not to lose ... and lost.
Seemed like the moment they subbed Gordon off England's press disintegrated. It was their press that had them in control to that point. After that Argentina set up on their side with Messi lobbing crossers.

So it definitely felt like Tuchel called off the dogs. Turtling with a one goal lead vs Messi and Argentina... What could go wrong. :laugh2:

Oh and btw I'd still say that England felt like a better team with Tuchel. At least with him they had some grit to them.

I am looking forward to Sunday’s game.

Spain has been incredible defensively. I think my money is on them.

France showing their true colors in the big moments was quite enjoyable in this cup.

Should be a great final. Can't wait.
