as always it seemed the first episode dragged on. As excited I was to watch it, I knew in the back of my mind that it was going to be one of those 'story line episodes" that just basically set things up for future episodes. Usually the norm with series like this, but was kind of hoping that with the shortened schedule this year, the writers might kick things up a bit early on.

I have to do some digging and see if there are official odds on who wins the Iron Throne at the end of the series.... would be a good sportsbook bet @flv

***SPOILER ALERT***

I believe that we were all busy following Rams Camp and talking about it afterwards, but after tonight, Game of Thrones is my favorite series of all times. Like Chris Long, I freaking loved the Sopranos more than anything else, but I find that I am breathless at times waiting for the next turn in the story. P.us.sy was killed off in the Sopranos, and other lesser characters and that was shocking. But watching Olenna Tyrell in her final scene was brilliant, and it seems that major characters like her get offed regularly on GOT. No one is safe and the regularity of shocking deaths is the norm.

Jon Snow as King of the North met his unknown aunt Daenerys Targaryen the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, was incredible. Meanwhile, Bran Stark arrived in Winterfell to meet his sister Sansa who is 'temporarily' ruling in Jon Snow's stead and he cryptically said that he can never be Lord of Winterfell or anywhere else...He is the third eye raven and knows all. He knows that John Snow is not of the blood of Ned Stark, but of Rhaegar Targaryen and Ned's sister, Lyanna Stark. This would make Jon into Ned Stark's nephew and cousin to his kids. I believe that Sansa's rule will become permanent and maybe the deadly Arya Stark becomes her adviser? Jon Snow might become a high adviser of the Mother of Dragons. How freaky would that be, if true?.

SO much in this episode. What did you all think?

I also wonder how long "Littlefinger" Petyr Baelish has to live? Sansa never knew while she begged for her fathers life at King's Landing that Petyr betrayed him. He watched on as a horrified Sansa was forced to watch her father Ned Stark's head being cut off...later to be placed on a stake. If memory serves, Littlefinger promised her that he would do all that he could to save him (lies). Sansa would surely kill him if she knew, and now Bran Stark who sees all, is with them all again. What does Arya know as well? Arya slaughtered the murderer of her mother and brother, what would she do to the betrayer of her father?.....Littlefinger is in serious danger....

Yeah...sorry to see Olena Tyrell go..she was great on the show..but the look on Jaime Lannisters face when he realized that Tyrion wasn't responsible for Joffreys death was a almost priceless

Butterfingers days are numbered..with out a doubt...even Sansa doesn't seem to want him around.

I'm oddly rooting Cersei, though it's definitely not going to end well for her. Littlefinger's time will come, but I feel that he has another big moment before he goes. I'm over Daenerys.

I don't know if anyone here knows this, but apparently George R.R. Martin has put multiple football references in his books, even a jab at the Patriots loss to the Giants in the SB.

How can you root against Daenarys? She is literally Freeing slaves and revolutionizing a world for the better. She is the real hope for bringing a safe fair world with her power and compassion for the lowest people.

I too, oddly root for Cercei. Not that I think she is good. But she has been dealt some serious blows and is a fighter. She has also lost all her children, and two of them were quite admirable humans. Her acting along with Daenarys and Tyrion carry the show. Without those three it's not near as believable or interesting.

The cinematography, musical score and acting of those 3 make this series in my opinion. The rest is filler.

Nearly every seen is a breathtaking background with badass music and top notch dialogue.

I think the actress they just offed was every bit as good as those (Olenna Tyrell). That last death scene for her was epic..I don't know how Jamie didn't draw that sword and cut off her head for what she said about the satisfyingly horrific death of his son.

So now will the Lannister clan accept Tyrion back under the Scarlett and Gold Banner knowing he didn't kill Joffrey, but he did put a crossbow bolt into Tywin?

Yeah, he killed Pappy on the cr@pper...Don't think all is square with Jamie and Cersey hates that short bastid(her thoughts).

I'd love to see her offer that and his response would be one of the best scenes in TV ever.

True although wasn't Cersei takin it from her nephew? Podric or whatever his name was/is? So much crazy going on in his books.
