How bout some goat horns for McVay? How many 3rd and less than 2 passes did he call? Gurley’s still on the team isn’t he?
Especially after almost getting picked before, sometimes he’s too smart for his own good.

Yeah, let's not make out like the corners were green. They're seasoned vets that were starting for the browns last season.

And the way Goff escaped pressure, man, he deserves a lot of credit.

.

The Browns entire secondary is injured. They guys that played last night were all backups.

(More than a) Coupla things.

1) The refs were gonna keep this close. I mean the entire pregame was "Browns! Browns! Browns!" Also, the league really wants every single Sunday Night game to be a premier game. You can rest assured that the LAST thing they want is a blowout. The refs for the most part allowed both secondaries to play and that was going to stifle both passing games. That affects the Rams more than the Browns.

2) The Browns are like the 2016 Rams with a better offensive system. They have talent in many of the skill positions. I don't think Kitchens is the guy, but if they get the HC they need, they are gonna break out of that losing like we did.

3) The Browns secondary...well, their entire defense... balled out last night. I don't care if they were replacement players, they balled out. Mad respect to them. Folks thought they'd get rolled and they showed some pride and poise and made it a game.

4) It became clear in the 2nd half that McVay is FINALLY starting to see that one cannot live on that outside zone. What's funny is that in his first year, he ran those counter trey plays that would spring Gurley for massive gains. Once teams got caught up to that, they started with the outside zones and teams have caught up to that. Now, with all the gaps filled, there IS a way to defeat that. Power I or anything smashed into the A gap and they started to have success with that although I don't think our OL is comfortable with that smash mouth style, yet.

5) Nothing is wrong with Goff. He's faced 3 defenses where they are selling out against the run and playing lots of man. When the receivers get separation, he's doing okay, but all 3 defenses have REALLY showed up. You can't say that about the defenses that played the Pats, Chiefs and a few other teams.

6) I'm done speculating about Gurley's health. Some of it is how he's used. I don't think he's used to this and he's struggling to find the "feel" of the game. When you get 25+ touches a game, you can feel how the DL and LBs are playing and adjust your game...set a guy up, etc. I think Gurley is struggling to adapt to the lack of touches, not emotionally, but simply trying to find the flow. Also, he's MUCH, MUCH stronger as a counter trey type, one cut and go runner than shifty, "get skinny" type. It's an adjustment and I think he'll make it. Plus, late in the season or playoffs, if we need to saddle him up and ride him, we'll be able to do that.

7) The Rams won on the road against an ascending team with equipment problems (apparently Goff couldn't hear McVay often throughout the game). Sometimes the wins are ugly. I think some folks forget that the ugly wins count the same as the beautiful wins.
