I'm more concerned with his experience and background than I am his first interview which I thought was kind of entertaining. If he wins he'll settle in as a lovable rah rah coach that everyone's behind. If he loses his personality will be mocked and he'll be dragged through the mud like the rest of the hires they've made of late.
I do think players respond to his style of coaching. Players aren't middle aged dudes with refined sensitivities laying judgment behind their keyboards. They're young, hungry, and looking for someone to lead them to wins and high energy can help there.
But he's going to need to be a schematic expert if Detroit is going to win and sustain winning and that's where I don't know whether he's gonna be good enough. Can he bring in top coordinator types and handle them? Big question right there for me and it's going to be entertaining to see that dude on the sidelines.
