Per nfl.com: Sean Witherspoon is signing with Cardinals 1 year 4 mill. Wish we could have signed him. Could have replaced Dunbar.

At least Dunbar is able to stay on the field. That's more than Weatherspoon can say. Weatherspoon has played 20 out of 48 possible games the past 3 years. He's played 47 of 80 possible games in his career. No bueno. But I'm fine with the Cards taking him :sneaky:

Hope they over paid. Smith is good, but not great. He is the type of player teams will give top money to even though he isn't a top tier guy.

Justin King made Smith look like Jerry Rice. Not gonna happen again!

Heard on espn101 that the Rams are interested in Akeem Ayers
He's a really disruptive player on the field, and we saw a glimpse, last year, that he was healthy. Just seems a weird fit with us. He's athletic and could cover TE's. I always thought he'd thrive in a 3-4 defense.

Very athletic, good pass defender. Now a full year off of a major injury. Played well in short stint with Pats. Could cover tight ends, and rush the passer.

Packers re-signed RT Bryan Bulaga to a five-year, $35 million contract.

The Packers upped their offer at the 11th hour and were able to keep Bulaga from reaching the market, where he was certain to command more money as the top free-agent tackle. The soon-to-be 26-year-old was Pro Football Focus' No. 4 right tackle last season, excelling as a pass blocker. After taking care of Randall Cobb over the weekend, Green Bay was allowed to focus on Bulaga. The Packers will return one of the NFL's elite offensive lines and skill-position corps.

Jahri Evans Could Still Be A Cap Casualty For The Saints
2 hours ago Saints 0 Comments 411 Views

Mike Triplett of ESPN.com is still hearing that the Saints could make veteran G Jahri Evans a cap casualty.

  • Triplett adds that they could consider other options with Evans, and he hasn’t been able to confirm that they are planning to release him.
Evans is in line to make a total of $7.5 million for the upcoming season and carries a cap figure of $11 million, so he represents one of the easiest sources of cap relief for the Saints.

The Saints have reportedly told Evans’ reps that an outright release remains be a possibility, but all scenarios are still being considered at this point in time.

Evans, 31, played through a torn TFCC in his wrist that required surgery during the second half of the season. Overall, his play was noticeably impacted by this injury.

The Saints signed Evans to a seven-year, $56.7 million contract that included $19 million guaranteed back in 2010. He still has two years remaining on that contract that includes base salaries of $6.8 million in 2015 and another $8 million in 2016.

Over the course of his nine-year NFL career, Evans has missed just two games for the Saints. Pro Football Focus has Evans rated as the No. 46 guard in the league out of 68 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Evans and the Saints as the news is available.

Rapoport:

The #Saints have called around, open to shopping many of their players, source say. One notable player included: TE Jimmy Graham. For real.

To think I thought Arizona was gonna be a rival for years to come, apparently they are desperate as all hell

And wonder if the Saints situation is because of Tom Benson's health?

Report: Saints Fielding Trade Offers For Players Including TE Jimmy Graham
4 mins ago Saints 0 Comments 71 Views

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the New Orleans Saints have been open to shopping a number of their players including TE Jimmy Graham.

Graham, 28, just signed a four-year, $40 million contract that included $20.9 million guaranteed with the Saints in July of last year.

He stands to make base salaries of $2.9 million (2015), $8.9 million (2016), and $7.9 million (2017) over the remaining three years of the agreement.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Graham would free up $2 million in available cap space while creating $9 million in dead money.

Last year, Graham appeared in 16 games for the Saints and caught 85 passes for 889 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns.

Fantastic...
We might get the privilege of playing Murray twice a year if the Cards land him.

Max Unger and a 1st is pretty steep but damn - what is Graham's contract looking like? hopefully this fucks their cap up
