100%...I thought we were atleast looking at another SB appearance under Goff but after that CHI game dude hasn't been the same for whatever combo of reasons. I thought a lot of his regression could be mitigated with a stud C and competition at LG but hey McVay wanted his guy. Fingers crossed Whit comes back...
If Whit comes back it’s cuz he loves to play, he’s been around long enough to understand the shit that happens to guys you’re close to, plus, despite Jared being his boy, you can’t help but be excited about what Stafford brings to the table.

If we can find one AND get an upgrade at center

Without an upgrade at center, no amount of gunslinging from Stafford will help.
Not buying it, the Rams Oline was rated #3 by PFF last year. Stafford is light years ahead of Goff in pocket presence and moving within the pocket.

Galloday would probably love to join the Rams.

Goff told NFL Network's Michael Silver on Sunday that, "I'm just excited to be somewhere that I know wants me and appreciates me."

So does that mean McVay had already move on from Goff after the last offensive play during the GB playoff game?

100% it was because he got BENCHED for Wolford...

Goff gets hurt..."He'll be back in time for the playoffs"

Wolford plays well against ARI..."Yah, we don't know if he'll be healthy enough to play" even tho Goff ended up being Wolford's backup anyway and McVay only dressing 2 QBs vs SEA...

Personally I think he moved on after the Arizona game. He didn’t start Goff for the Seahawks game, then was lukewarm in his comments about him after 2 gutty performances against the SEA and GB. McVays mind was made up and it was “too little too late” after the playoff games.

Yeah, it's been building for awhile, but you could feel it.

When Wolford fought for that first down and got it, the entire sideline EXPLODED...

This is simple to me. You make this trade because you think QB is holding back the offense. Therefore for this trade tomwork we needed to see a marked improvement in offensive stats. Anything less and it was a bad trade. Injuries be damn as the rams offense had many over the. Last twp years.

I'm gonna go with one thing.

Stafford has to stay healthy. The guy he's replacing was an iron man in terms of durability. Even if Staff looks fantastic out of the gate it won't mean squat if he gets dinged and starts missing games.

This is a contending playoff team. Ain't nobody got time for a QB who misses snaps or drives or games.

I had lost confidence in Goff during a game (more than that actually) but Dog talked me off the ledge. Still Grateful for that brother.

I have to say when Wolford came out and did his thing I had some lost confidence in out team go away. We all have to admit we loved what that guy did for that short time.

If Stafford gets hurt I like out #2. Football is chemistry. If the HC and QB don't have it we are screwed.

In McVay I trust. Until I don't.

I got reamed on a gameday thread for this but McVay needs to be evaluated as well. I really like him as our HC until I think he is the problem. I do not right now.

My head is hurting from nodding at so many posts. I feel old.

At this point this is the only concern I have. We could take Goffs game day availability for granted. Stafford has played most of his games but he had some issues 2 seasons ago. Otherwise he looks like an upgrade in pretty much every way over Goff.

My biggest concern is the D.
Another round of FA departures and the big question.....was it mostly Staley?

Agreed. McVay’s earned his good reputation but I’m also not of the “he can do no wrong” mindset. For now I trust his judgment and ability until he shows otherwise. But make no mistake about it - we expect a lot of great things out of the offense with Stafford, and now McVay doesn’t have Goff as the obvious scapegoat.

Agreed also. Everyone cites our #1 defense as a reason we needed to capitalize on this team’s window - but our DC left and while Morris looks like a good replacement, we can’t necessarily assume our D will automatically be at the same level.

Agree. At the same time, he's started 16 games in 9 of the last 10 years...
