I say this in all seriousness, he needs help. I won't joke about the young man in freefall. I've lived with addiction and it's just difficult to find humor in it.

Johnny Manziel isn't capable of being a ballboy let alone an NFL QB until he's prepared to fully embrace sobriety and humbly acknowledge his addiction.

Until he does this, ANY talk of Johnny doing anything beyond being a spectator of an NFL game is beyond premature.

He has a lot of growing up to do before he can do this. I work with an addiction / recovery centre here in Wales, and they do some awesome work, it's really humbling, however, as you pointed out the recoveree NEEDS to acknowledge that they have an addiction BEFORE they can benefit from any sort of help.

His agent should try and steer him in the right direction, make sure he hangs out with the RIGHT people etc...

If he can get clean and sober he might be as good as Case Keenum some day.
So no thanks! We already have the functional one.

Manziel was passenger in alleged hit and run incident

As it turns out, a false tale of living with Von Miller may not be the weirdest thing about Johnny Manziel’s most recent Saturday night.

Via TMZ, Manziel was the passenger later that night in an alleged hit and run.

Specifically, Manziel was riding in a vehicle that hit a light pole. He and the driver, Ryan Silverstein (a/k/a OVO Ryan, whatever that means) fled the scene on foot.

And, of course, they were picked up by suspended Browns receiver Josh Gordon.

Manziel and Silverstein later returned to the scene, and Manziel was interviewed by police. He has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing.

Still, Manziel’s involvement in yet another bizarre incident will do nothing to persuade a team to give him another chance.

Report: Rosenhaus dumps Manziel, asks him to seek treatment
Posted by Zac Jackson on April 13, 2016

Agent Drew Rosenhaus is dumping Johnny Manziel as a client and will only take Manziel back if Manziel seeks treatment for whatever issues he has, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday night.

“I have terminated the standard representation with Johnny Manziel in the hopes of helping him get the treatment I believe he needs,” Rosenhaus told Schefter. “I have informed him that if he takes the immediate steps I have outlined for him that I will rescind the termination and continue to represent him. Otherwise the termination will become permanent. There is a five-day window for me to rescind the termination. I’m hoping he takes the necessary steps to get his life back on track.”

Rosenhaus became Manziel’s agent after Manziel’s original agent, Erik Burkhardt, cut ties in January after Manziel’s offseason party binge began. The Browns officially released Manziel in early March, a move delayed only for salary cap reasons.

Manziel has been showing up on TMZ in recent weeks and living in Los Angeles, though he can’t get his story straight in regard to his roommate situation.

Last offseason he sought treatment for undisclosed issues and spent around 10 weeks in a treatment center before returning to the Browns for offseason workouts. Manziel is still waiting to find out if he’ll face charges from a January 30 incident in which he was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

Rosenhaus had — or still might have, if Manziel seeks treatment — quite a job in trying to get a team to take a chance on Manziel, a 2014 first-round pick who partied his way off the Browns roster in two seasons. News of a discussion between Manziel and Broncos coach Gary Kubiak broke last week, but the Broncos moved quickly to say that was a private conversation between Texas A&M alums and not any kind of discussion about Manziel joining the team.

Well I guess we could get JFM to tutor Dui, er Dak Prescott, throw to Tyler Higbee and handoff to Tre Mason. Maybe try to get Ricky Williams out of retirement and sign Greg Hardy too?

Let's dig up Lawrence Phillips for that special Weekend at Bernie's trick play. We can go from a neanderthal offense to a zombified offense.

Oh, what will happen next?!! I hope he seeks treatment. The world will not be the same without Johnny realizing his potential as JUST A GUY.

I await, with baited breath.

2 year, incentive laden contract. I'd rather have him than Foles on the roster, and if he chooses to wreck his career for good, … cut him at no real loss. He'd certainly bring some excitement to the new L.A. Football scene, even if only temporarily.
He will sell tickets. jmo.

Seriously, dude? Let's take a step back from him as a football player for a minute. The guy needs help. He has a major substance abuse problem and can't get his shit together. You don't bring that onto a team. He's a trainwreck. People buying tickets to watch it doesn't make it a good idea. This is such a bad idea. He needs rehab. He needs to get his life together. He doesn't need more people enabling him.

And getting away from his off the field issues (which make him unsignable), he's not a good player on the field.

At least with Josh Gordon, you can say that he's possibly a top 3-5 WR so he might be worth the risk.(I disagree) But Manziel wasn't even effective.
