When JSN was matched in man against Forbes (twenty times; the most JSN has ever faced a single defender), he was limited to three catches on five targets for thirty yards. There was the pass interference penalty, but ultimately, Forbes matched up well against their best receiver. Forbes has limited catches against some good receivers, has been an active tackler who doesn't miss many (one play to JSN aside), and I disagree that he's the weak link of our defense.

Forbes has had his struggles but I suggest you rewatch the last 3 games and tell us again what you see from Forbes. Duly noted if you think it’s still below average.

Maybe I will, but I don't really enjoy watching that guy...... I usually watch Ram reruns and focus on Stafford to see where he is uncomfortable, which isn't too often this season. The only thing I've noticed is short passes when he's moving to his left he's not so great.

Fair enough. I highly recommend watching Forbes play in coverage, though. Very sticky, but rarely to the point of penalties. He's decent in zone, but he thrives when he's in man. Long arms, 4.35 speed, outstanding ballhawking skills, and most importantly, a willingness to put his body on the line and tackle. It's never been about willingness with Forbes; it's been about his size. He's gained good weight, and it's shown.

I disagree with your assessment.
Forbes has turned into a hell of a playmaker during this win streak. He is playing above average and is helping ignite this defense with big time stops on key downs and distances.

And that #11 you speak of, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, is having one of the greatest seasons by a WR in NFL history. Not a great litmus test for writing off an ascending defensive back. Not like he was covering Drew Bennet out there.

I'm going to try to get a chance to rewatch also and key on Forbes. If we're going by stats alone, he had the best game of any other DB on JSN this season by quite a bit. He's definitely been showing up lately with some pretty big plays including some big hits, 6 PDs, and 2 INTs in the last 3 games. I like that he seems to be coming on at the right time.

I really want to utilize McCreary at the STAR position, especially now that Lake's out. This is the exact reason why this trade was made, and McCreary fits the role. I know they haven't played him a lot on defense (Wallace was the first man up and he was only okay), but I hope he learns the system quickly and they use him.

He looks like a different player just from the start of the season. He's a guy who's not looking over his shoulder and it shows in his play. Excellent job by coaching staff... I think there's a better-than-good chance that Pleasant becomes the team's DC next if Shula takes off this off season.

I’d hope so. He’s turning late round players and other teams castoffs into a reputable defensive back field
