If he keeps improving I'd imagine the Rams get something done next season for him. I'd be careful with that though. Make him fight and learn and improve as long as possible with that carrot dangling.

They have to make a decision this offseason on that 5th year option. But yeah other than that for the real big money, I think I'd be waiting a little bit longer too.

I think they pick that up for sure. He has earned that.

But I don't think they make him play on it. Expect he'll get a deal before that final season. So after the 2026 season. And that is assuming he keeps improving.

Long way to go.

But I’m willing to bet the rams now believe they can roll with cast off or drafted CBs and coach them up.

Since we have pass rush that can cover for average CB’s.

Maybe we shifted from deprioritizing off ball linebacker to CB.

Cap concerns force stuff.

Sure would be nice to see the Rams draft a corner with one of those first round picks. I don't really care which way they go with it, long as it's a pick that makes sense. But the SDSU kid for example looks fuckin great whether he's playing off or even as a gunner. Guy like him or Delane would make this defense so damn scary.

Personally, I love the Tennessee corners (Jermod McCoy and Colton Hood) the most (although the San Diego State U kid, Chris Johnson, is solid). Very real ballskills, proven against tough competition, etc. I also fucking love D'Angelo Ponds (Indiana); he's short, but he's an absolute animal who backs down from no one. Reminds me of Tyrann Mathieu, but fully at corner.

If we want an underrated corner to pop with our third, Julian Neal (Arkansas) is a long, lengthy kid with ball skills. He's rising quickly, though.

Before Jourdan left, she seemed to have implied that they're fine with deprioritizing CB if they have a dominant pass rush and it certainly aligns with what they've been doing.

He was a 1st round pick for a reason.

Washington was the stupid team for giving up on him too soon.

He looks far above average the last few games.

CB is one of the most difficult positions in the NFL.

Maybe he's finally starting to get it.

Elite speed, reach, and now becoming a hard hitter/tackler.

And you call him a cast off or average?
