Witherspoon and Forbes Jr. On the outside gives us rather best chance to win IMO. Mixing in Durant in the slot and Lake as a hybrid gives us a solid secondary.

On my Starbucks run before leaving for the fame my guy on fantasy sports satellite radio was dissing our secondary and defense, so I walked into SOFI with an attitude and left very happy

I do recall one tackle Forbes had where I was like ok man, no more gifs of the kid running over the other kid with his toy monster truck. :laugh1:

Also, apropos of corner play, count me in the camp that Spoon is overrated but he did a good job yesterday. As long as the pass rush makes sure the ball is coming out quick and we don't have him running 30 yards down the field, he could be good.

So you're saying this one still applies? And btw don't get me started on women drivers.

Spoon has been our best, most consistent CB for a while now.

I agree that he's at times been our best, but consistent is wrong.

Perhaps a whole offseason with the team (Spoon's so consistent the team team locked him down for a multiyear contract after his first seaon with us!) will improve the consistency - that would be the best case scenario.

Spoon's been on a nice run of form since late last season. If you look at him over the years, he's had good runs but it seems like that is most dependent on not drawing the worst matchups. He's just limited in his wheels. So personally I like him in the slot in this defense, the old savvy vet who can find some help inside when he needs it, be it a rub, redirect, or safety help.

Key for that to happen would be Forbes and Durant being able to hold their own out there. Challenge will be teams that want to work underneath and have physical runners. Because both Forbes and Durant are iffy in the physicality and tackling dept.

We have 4 solid corners, but no one that is elite. At least they are all good.
I'm still hoping we draft someone high next season.
Yeah, hoping next year we get a high level RT and CB...and of course a QB. We can do that if we have 3 picks in the first two rounds. Hopefully we don't have to trade up for a QB or if we do maybe we use a future high pick and just a mid round pick this year.

As I understand Forbes is eligible for a 5th year option because he was a first rounder.
How much is that going to cost if we go that route?
At this point he looks like he's going to be worth it if he keeps it up like he has the last few weeks.

From what I understand, it's less than twelve million. I'll take it for the play he's had since the first Whiners game; he's been outstanding in coverage since then.

OverTheCap is projecting his 5th year option at $11.77 mil.

He's definitely worth that if he continues at this rate. Keep in mind the 5th year would be for 2027. He's at $2.85 mil. for next year.
