Yes, this is right up my alley! Something about a white outline around the numbers on the classic jerseys just doesn’t look right. Dropping that was the better choice.

Apparently the Rams St. Louis gold and navy uniform was to have blue and white pants that had an extended gold stripe. Apparently in a way to emulate a Rams horn. There were a couple of action figures produced that had the blue and white pants, but the Rams only ever wore the white pants in one preseason game:
