It's what this doctor didn't say that is ruffling feathers. He had every opportunity to talk about the injury, recovery time frame, rehabilitation, scar tissue, explosiveness off of cuts, mobility limitations, healing process, etc. And he failed miserably! If you title yourself a sports doc, this is what folks want to hear about!!

Instead this guy wants to add his two cents about the depth chart and question the coaching strategy for activating Akers.

Also the article @AvengerRam posted has some good research on it and provides detail into some of the Dr.'s unethical practices. If you know how to do it, you may look up his California medical license detail (physician and surgeon). It's less than glowing, and the board had every right to reject his license, but didn't. Would you want this guy practicing on you with his track record?
He was very vague, but a season ending injury is a very serious injury. Anyone who knows anything about sports can put two and two together.

Also, I thought he was just a doc who was also a football fan. So it made sense to me why he was talking about the things he was. I didn't feel like he was questioning the coaching strategy, but more was explaining it. As for depth chart, yes, if cam can come straight off IR and put up better numbers than our current starter, that pretty much means our starters are inept.

Regardless of what this DR. says
I too will be shocked if Cam sees the field.
Unless the tear was very minute, I just don't see it happening.

That being said I will be the first to say that, I hope I am very very wrong
Either way I just don't want to see him injure himself further.

Achilles tears are usually a wrap for the season we all know that and accept it as an unfortunate part of the game. McVay put this out there a while ago as a possibility, the question is why? When I first saw that Cam might be back I was skeptical that he actually would play in a game and now that he’s been activated I’m asking what’s really going on here? Is this just encouragement for Cam or does someone think he could actually make a contribution?

i dont really remember how effective he was, but terrell suggs came back from Achilles tear in 5months and started and played normal amount of snaps for the ravens when they won the sb. so its not the 1st time something like this happened and entirely possible akers plays an important role for us in playoffs

Fox's pregame show said the Rams brought him back so early because it will help this year qualify as a season played which will count towards his pension. But that only takes 3 seasons to qualify for that so not sure why they were worried about that. They also said he could get some carries in the playoffs which would be just over 6 months from the date of the injury.

I think that's a "good faith" thing on their part that makes their players feel good about the organization.

I don't expect to see him on the field.. but, gosh, I'd love it.

Hopefully it’s more than that, especially after watching Hendo exit again after some promising carries.
Sony has been more than I ever thought he would be(what’s his contract status?) but I can’t help but wonder what kind of running attack we’d have with a back with some legit speed.

It’s possible that they have concerns that he won’t be the same explosive back and may have a shortened career.

It sounds like a safe guard to protect him from that possible result. He’d get credit for this year and then get a season to prove he still can be a good NFL runningback.

Achilles injuries can take some of the ability to make sharp cuts fluidly away from a player. Excpect a stiffer tendon with possible scarring. Hopefully not but it’s possible. Either way he’d get three full years.

Kevin Durant would probably argue that medical technology in this field has made huge advances.

Just wait until Cam is back to full speed then you will see: ridiculous balance that keeps him on his feet when most backs g down, the ability to employ his blockers like a maestro conductor leading an OL symphony, the consistent 'Terrell Davis-esque' habit of spinning or stumbling forward for extra positive yardage even when he has been solidly hit and on his way down. When Cam is at his best, the Horns will have a premier rushing attack, with Sony acting as an Asgardian Mjolnir hammer and Hendo as a speedy change of pace specialist with receiving skills.

I still don't understand the title of this. How would the word "overrated" even work in this context? What the eff is that supposed to mean??

Not gonna bother with the vid. I am sure that Reggie and his team would not let Cam go if they thought it would jeopardize his future. I'll trust in them....
