Because rookie QBs need to be in place long before you need them in most cases.

Yep. Transition from college to the NFL is hardest for most QBs. Mannion will need this season and the entire off-season to get up to speed with his mechanics, our playbook, understanding defenses, etc. Right now he could fill-in if we're in a pinch, but we don't need to "Bulgerize" him at this point. I would rather he continue working on his game and see how things shake out next year.

I'm all for Foles starting the rest of the season! We need him to keep doing what he's doing to be in a great position to draft his replacement.

Unless Foles can return to his form of week #4, When he went 16of 24 for 171 Yards and 3 Tds. while being sacked only once.
But then again the Team did rush 26 times for 164 yards, w/Gurrrly having a Long of 52!! ( We will need this kind of Day!!)

I think Andrew Luck might be good enough to hold his jock strap if he was a good boy this year.

But Matt Hasselbeck is showing him up so I think he's getting worse than coal in stocking.
