Well, if they don't resign Brown they will need a legit NT.i dunno. Bobby Brown and Tyler Davis are improving each week.

I think CB1 is Rams biggest defensive need. Followed by a sideline to sideline ILB. Add those 2 and this defense will start to hum. This is awesome. Still need a big bodied DT next year to help in run support but Fiske is only going to get better.
Good job McSnead
Bobby Brown has been filling that role nicely for the most part. This is awesome. Still need a big bodied DT next year to help in run support but Fiske is only going to get better.

But they aren't big run stuffing DTs. We need some beef in the middle of our defense. Not saying we don't have more important positions of need. But it's something that our FO needs to addressi dunno. Bobby Brown and Tyler Davis are improving each week.
I like the CB out of Notre Dame.....he may fall a bit due to an injury.I think CB1 is Rams biggest defensive need. Followed by a sideline to sideline ILB. Add those 2 and this defense will start to hum.
Yep. Kinda sux that BBIII took 4 years to contribute much of anything though. Funny how players ball out in contract years, haha...Bobby Brown has been filling that role nicely for the most part.
Doesn't get enough attention but he has been playing well.
Maybe BBIII is part of the reason the Rams drafted older players recently. There’s less risk projecting if they will develop quickly. They are more finished products.Yep. Kinda sux that BBIII took 4 years to contribute much of anything though. Funny how players ball out in contract years, haha...

Yeah, it was two 2nd round picks. But we got a higher 2nd round pick for it so the net is we lose one second round pick. Likely to be upper 40's/low 50's. And a 5th.I was including the two 2nd round picks as the equivalent of a first.
Basically, a late 1st round pick usually costs a 2nd round pick, and another 2nd if you are trying to trade up.
People in the media were saying we way overpaid for him, but he's shown he was worth a 1st round pick so far, and lots of teams are probably regretting not taking him.
What is Bobby Brown if not a big run stuffing DT? He's certainly not a pass rusher. But they aren't big run stuffing DTs. We need some beef in the middle of our defense. Not saying we don't have more important positions of need. But it's something that our FO needs to address

Per PFF, there are 67 DTs in the league that have gotten 50% or more of their teams defensive snaps. Brown is ranked 11th in the league in run defense grade.

Fair point. Is it possible that we're ranked near the bottom in rushing yards allowed for reasons other than Brown?Rams are ranked 27th in rushing yards allowed. Allowing 4.6 per carry. Ranked 25th in total defense. That's great he's ranked 11th in the league, he's also ranked 11th in snap counts on defense with only 370 snaps out of 16 players, He's a rotational player. Troy Reeder who's been out for what, 4 or 5 weeks now, has 372 snaps this season 2 more than Brown.
Here's also the NFC defensive line weight rankings. Rams near the bottom.
Lions 251 1 12 Seahawks 250 2 4 Vikings 246 3 14 Giants 246 4 3 Cardinals 245 5 6 Redskins 245 6 1 Saints 244 7 16 Falcons 242 8 8 Bears 242 9 11 Packers 242 10 7 Eagles 242 11 5 49ers 240 12 9 Rams 240 13 15 Panthers 238 14 10 Cowboys 237 15 13 Buccaneers 233 16 2

Our ILBs aren't the best, our defensive front as a whole is small, and the defense as a whole has struggled with missed tackles the entire year. Those would be more immediate reasons why we've been bad at run defense.
All pure run stuffing DTs are rotational players. Brown has one less run defense snap than Dexter Lawrence and 11 fewer than T'Vondre Sweat.
It sounds like what you're asking for is another good all around DT - one who plays 70-80% of the snaps and is a good run stuffer and pass rusher...say like Kobie Turner?
It almost always goes to a QB.jayden daniels is gonna win rookie of the year...and he should...
There is an Offensive AND Defensive Rookie of the Year.It almost always goes to a QB.
In a fair game, Puka would have won last year.
