So the future, in the NFL, is always about the NOW...like what's gonna put us over the hump, next year? Not a bunch of homers claiming how great this player is...that player is....when you see them in a wildcard game lay an egg, right in front of your face. Without significant upgrades on defense...guys that "fit" a man to man, 3-4 scheme...pressure D....and playmakers that...you know...make plays in BIG games....we could continue to come up just short. Those 3 drives should tell you alot about our team....without a dominant Defense....I can't see us getting over the hump with scheme...tricks...slight of hand...it's beat the man in front of you in the playoffs....

I was in year 1...just to see....I kinda knew, but wanted to check and see. After he NEVER played behind Foles...then Goff...I knew what Mannion was and is....dude shouldn't be in the league. If we don't draft or sign a decent backup QB....that's just stupid.

McVay/Wade did pretty damn good first year, 2nd year i expect better and as in most things we will see, but i feel that for the first time in what seems for ages, Rams future is excellent..

Peyton was a wizard as a Colt in his 2nd year. With some excellent skill players at RB, WR, and some decent talent at TE. Defense was underwhelming...IMO....that changed when they added Bob Sanders, 5 years later....coaching changed when they added Dungy 4 years later.

Greg Olsen left for Oakland, but Allen was kept on the roster for a reason?? Why do you keep a extra(3rd) QB on your 53 if you don’t think he might be part of your future?

I haven’t seen many post about him. I think he got hurt after calling Cj a TD pass . I missed half the games & didn’t record a few of them .

The Rams did a great job finding pieces to fit there team last year. I suspect they are only going to do that much better this of season.

I can’t even judge at what The Rams off season is going to look like until they make a few moves.
These next to weeks will help at finding talent. The Rams Love drafting players from the Senior Bowl.With Snead it goes back to an MVP I. Pead. I know he didn’t work out , but Cinncy has that QRT system $
& Fisher was horrible going back & teach young players after rookie camp.

Barron is still one of the best defenders on our squad...he's just NOT an INSIDE LINEBACKER

Belichick is the greatest coach in the history of the game. Even as a DC he had an epic history of shutting down top offenses under Parcells, and that tendency has been the backbone of his unprecedented run as a head coach.

Now it's not realistic to say you can go out and get a Belichick, if you're an owner. But IMO keeping the score down opens up all possibilities for heroism, from the defense shutting the other team down to the offense and QB on the other side who benefit from not having to push and make risky throws/plays. Peyton was a wizard as a Colt in his 2nd year. With some excellent skill players at RB, WR, and some decent talent at TE. Defense was underwhelming...IMO....that changed when they added Bob Sanders, 5 years later....coaching changed when they added Dungy 4 years later.

A little misunderstanding there. I didn't mean to say his supporting cast is better right now. I am claiming with the coaching of Phillips and the replacement of a couple key positions that Phillips was unable to get in last years draft since they went offensive for the most part, I am foreseeing a top 5 defense in most of the foreseeable years. I believe that if they keep the majority of their current roster and get either a Nose Tackle or a "true" Inside Linebacker, this defense could easily be top 5. Personally I would love to move Ogletree outside (maybe Conner Barwins position) and get an inside linebacker (free agent or draft) and one of the three top Nose Tackles in the draft, we would be set for quite awhile. I think we will either keep Trumaine or get a comparable replacement in FA and CB is good enough right now with the way our defensive line can pressure the passer. I like both Hill and Petersen as possible replacements for Webster if his Achilles doesn't heal. I am hoping that they do look at some CBs in the later rounds for backup purposes as well. And one final thing - they need to let Quinn go and get a cheaper OLB who can "maybe" rush the passer better than he did and contain the running game batter. Sad to say but he is just a shell of his former self. He has one move and usually gets pushed out of the play on the majority of his plays. He did play well the last few games of the season but not good enough for what he is getting paid.

Well just like you, I use my eyeballs. Just like you I can cherry pick what stats to use to back up my opinion. Just like you I can come up with random criteria to base my statements on. So based on what i see and the stats i chose to recognise and what qb i thought the rams should pick, I say we didn't.
