Why do you say that about Anchrum? What has he shown? A few moments in preseason and what.....two plays in regular season?

You’re right; it’s a shame he got injured so fast we still don’t know what we have in him. For me it’s just that, when he has played he looked to me like he could _physically_ handle things, which, among our linemen, stood out like a sore thumb. Not much to go by though, I realize.

Get the feeling McVay likes him some Anchrum and the young man will get every opportunity next camp. That said I’m still adding a guard and center on day three of the draft, based on McVays history with the oline.

Edge has been my choice for biggest need all year and will be going into this d4afy. The defense isn’t the same without a pass rush.

That is a lot of projection going on there.
You may be right and I hope so, but, no way of knowing at this point.
None are expensive.....Im keeping them all and let them battle it out in preseason.
Guys with proven starting experience, for reasons we've seen this season, should get a little nod for that as it does have value.
Response to question.....From observing his two starts in the 2022 preseason against the Texans & Chargers. His performance was functionally good with no mistakes but he is still far from being a strength in the interior. Still green playing the interior.

I believe I covered in another post that Anchrum has shown nothing in 3 seasons in this offense:eyeroll::not:. Carberry's plan in 2021 was to utilize Anchrum as the top Swing OG. Carberry started Anchrum in the 3 preseason games & he was injured in the 2nd 2021 preseason game & injured again in the 3rd 2021 preseason game & was placed on the IR and never saw the field again in 2021.

In 2022 Anchrum's season started the same way as the promoted swing OG but an injury got him his first regular-season start @ RG & in his first snap broke his leg and was placed on the IR. What does all that tell us? How can anyone say Anchrum is a long-term answer for this team his contract is up after 2023.

I am all in on your suggestion...yes keeping all these highly possible easy-to-sign veteran interior UFA's OL'ers {Aboushi, Skura, Brewer, Toner} to FIGHT & blend in with the signed IOL'ers {Allen, Shelton, Thomas, Bruss & Anchrum} is a good plan:thumbsup1:.

If I'm considering keeping one of the street FAs, it's Ty Nsekhe as a swing OT. Looking at our roster next year, we have the following OLs returning:
LT Joe Noteboom (hopefully in time for the start of the year)
RT Rob Havenstein
OG/C Coleman Shelton
C Brian Allen (no real upside to cutting him)
OG/OT Alaric Jackson
OG Logan Bruss
OG/OT Tremayne Anchrum

That's 7 spots. Teams generally only carry 9 OLs. I'd draft at least one guy, so that's 8 spots (at a minimum). If we're trying to fill that last spot, I'd rather have Nsekhe in case Noteboom and Jackson have set backs than Skura or Brewer. However, if I were the Rams, I'd also consider 49ers utility OL Daniel Brunskill in FA. He has proven to be a serviceable LT when needed and can be a solid starter on the interior.

On the DL, I like Hoecht a lot and think he could be a starter at 5-Tech for us next year.
I hope the Rams pull the trigger on a stud OC or OG if available in round 2. No more misses like Creed Humphrey. Then add a OT in the later rounds who can develop as a replacement for Hav when that time comes. Finally keep an eye on trades for a stud LT (e.g. Note plus draft picks). I don’t see any affordable stud FAs at LT this year. If not I think AJax/Nyseke can hold down the fort next year. Having a run game will be critical to success next year. Akers plus a very good but affordable FA RB next year (there is a flood of good ones available) could make that happen.

Maybe the best news out of the Seattle game is that Yeast and Lake look like they could be decent players.
Bobby Brown made a great play on the goal-line play where Rapp came through and dropped Walker for the loss.
