Yeah, a product of riches and success. We are part of a group that at times complains about SuperBowl winnig coaches. I get it, comes with the territory. In Rah's case it was excessive
I went back to look at how bad Raheem was. He had the 5th best scoring defense in 2021. Yeah, he was awful!

I love Lemon, very technical, smooth route runner, good speed and hands should be low risk to translate to NFL, but I am a little surprised that you think we will go slot over X.
I think Boston, Tate or Brazzell may be more inline with MeVay and our offense but no shade toward Lemon from me
To add to this, McVay has been looking for a legit X with good size for a while now, and finally got a dude in Adams. It makes the offense work.

But he's a free agent after next season and McSnead likes to address needs a year early. This is one of the best drafts in years for the X type. I'd say there's a high probability that an X is the desire over a slot WR.

Rah was very adaptable to the talent, always trying to keep us in games on D

People don’t understand that getting pressure can seriously expose your weaknesses, it’s a balance that isn’t always resolved by sending more defenders toward the QB

I really like Boston, I think he could be a great Ram
Has the body and blocks better than most of the others in his range

Yeah 21 YPC as a rookie TE is pretty good I'd say it's proof of ability. Really looking forward to him in the playoffs.
Yeah it would be really damn nice to see Ferg show out to some extent in the playoffs. Hopeful.

This.

Also Lemon might be too damn small. He's got juice, kid separates, he's fluid, but he's small. So I think that's risky, that we add him and our old QB can't see or hit him in stride.

Stafford loves big targets. This draft has some of them that should be in our range for once. So let's just get him some big targets. :thumbsup1:

I mean, I think I'm pretty even keel on it. He's shown flashes but he's not consistent yet. So he'll have to step it up if he wants to be a star in this league but he's shown an ability to stretch the field and markedly improved blocking already. It's there if he wants it. We'll see.

Also, I don't think you can compare a TE in this offense to most in the league. McVay requires these guys to know a full compliment of route running and both run and pass blocking (even if the TE's play different positions - Y and F). So it may not look as good as a guy put at F - often split from the line - and told to run routes and hardly ever run or pass block.
I’m not sure what you’re saying here. Are you saying there’s no room in this offense for a Trey McBride for example? Or an elite pass catching route running TE that isn’t a stud blocker?

I’m always for BPA in round one.
You can’t prioritize need over an elite player.

That said, if somehow the BPA aligns with WR and CB, I’d be ecstatic.

The Rams have a superbowl caliber team this year and we will be adding 2 first rounders next year.

I’m excited.

Let’s win the next 4 first of course

I think I get what you're saying. Hey, I always think there's room for studs. In reference to what you're mentioning, I think Trey's production would either look a bit different in this offense (his yards would be a bit off) or the offense would morph to look like something different with a guy like that on our team and he'd be treated more like a big wideout which he kinda is now.

Alternatively, I think Fergy may actually have a bit more production in a different offense than what he has in ours when it comes to pass catching if he were asked to block less, be in more pure passing plays (non-PA). We have morphed back into a more PA team than a pure passing team which is what we become when Stafford first got here.

Hard to fully quantify as there's a apples to oranges thing going on here.

I'll just return to my original point which was in response to this offense needing more juice between the 20s: the Rams should pursue all options to make that happen in draft and FA but the answer to that issue may also already be on that roster if Fergy can become more consistent and get the nuances of how the Rams want their TEs to play in this offense. He's shown flashes of becoming a field stretching and YAC weapon already.

a big shutdown corner would be nice...

free agency?

drafting an immediate starter is a very risky gamble...

we'll know in about 8 months how it works out...

i won't be hol;ding my breath, but will definitely be watching...

go rams

IMO FA AND draft pick for DBs. Spoon snd Dwill are cooked. Forbes and Durant are depth.

I'm sick and tired of watching big WR's burning Rams secondary. Please draft a shutdown corner.

As frustrating as that might be..... Watching the offense not putting teams away and opting to punt every time we get the ball and not burn any time off the clock is way more frustrating to watch.
