Sean McVay steals from every effective offense. You'd be a dope or a Jeff Fisher OC not to do that.

And the number of offenses out there that haven't tried to emulate McVay's ideas is probably zero.

There you go some state nothing good comes out of getting your ass whooped, McVay would beg to differ. The fact he can swallow his pride and learn something from getting embarrassed is really nice to see.

This is what he has always preached. You can always learn.

Am I imagining things or did this thread title at some point change to something about stealing from Ravens?

No doubt, but I don't think it's very easy to copy as a whole.

The play designs demand performance by everyone at a very high level of precision. Very few NFL offenses I've ever seen execute at the level the Rams do. It takes frankly almost incredible precision, timing and blocking by the 0-line, receivers, TEs and qbs across the board to execute. It also takes a special kind of smart and dedicated players too, such as our lineman and receivers and now running backs. Just think of receivers... how many teams have receivers who can do the stuff ours do?

All this is built on an amazing pyramid of coaching, skill and practice by the Rams.

Great as the scheme may be, McVay and the Rams also excel at execution at the highest level. When it's all working, as it is now, it's a thing of beauty to watch.

Great video.

Yeah... There are a few play calls with handoffs that are bang-bang with Goff and the WR taking the ball coming around. The timing is incredible on those.

If we're really going to have any shot this season defense has to step up and at least play disciplined football. They don't have to be the best but they need to do a better job preventing the big plays

I think FarNorth nails it.
McVay envied the 49rs precision running game and ported that idea over to the Rams incorporating his own innovative twists. It's working, with IMO slightly inferior OL/RB talent to what the 49ers ran last year.

Its success mean that means the Rams' run game execution is ALREADY top notch.
McVay teaching and demanding precision. Kromer too.
And this is enabled by the Rams' smart/dedicated/team-captain approach to talent acquisition.

Love this development. Precision run game, precision pass game.
Now if Staley can only produce the same on D.
That would be something to see.
