I don't believe that well has to run dry, although there is bound to be a few disappointments along the way. McVay is an extremely bright guy and knows what he wants, both in terms of professionalism/personal character and the smartest, most savvy football minds who he and his players can communicate well with, ... whether he plucks future help from the NFL or college ranks, he won't be going in blind.
jmo.
I guess thats what I meant...it seems like McVay has hit home runs on every new DC or assistant coach he's brought in. The more and more coaches get stolen from us, the probability raises that McVay brings in a turd. I mean we should all have faith in his ability to evaluate coaches and I do, but still when you're bringing in multiple people every year you're bound to miss on a few.

Johnathan Cooley is the assistant DB coach and if it's an internal candidate to replace him likely the next man up.

He could also go outside for somebody that was just let go maybe from Denver and Fangio's defense though so we'll have to wait and see. Only two years in his current post but he was a DB coach in college. We'll see, I'd wager Ramsey will have input on if he's moved to that spot or not.

It’s pretty crazy the annual poaching of McVay’s staff. How many years now. Unprecedented it seems especially for such a young HC. We’re not talking about BB or Parcels.

But the good thing is that as long as this continues - young, bright, up-and-coming coaches will flock to McVay’s staff knowing that’s the biggest stepping stone in the NFL

This is insane, we should be compensated for becoming the NFL coaching factory. Geez, can you go poach some of Petes or Kliffs trash assistances for once?!

This is something every good team has to deal with.
I don't think anyone has had to deal with this. I can't recall anyone shitting assistants into the league at this speed. Not even Walsh. But my memory's faulty, granted. So idk man. He's like a weird beetlemania type obsession with rich dudes.

Nah never at this rate. Never ever, not when you combine coordinators and assistants.

Joe Berry, Matt LaFluer, Greg Olson, Aubrey Pleasant, Zac Taylor, Shane Waldron, Brandon Staley Ejiro Evero, Kevin O'Connell.

Nine key assistants/ coordinators in 5 years. NINE!! Am I forgetting anyone? Brad Holmes too I guess for FO poaches but damn man. Seriously blows my mind how McVay can keep finding quality coaches, it has to be tough.

What if I told you McVay was just the biggest branch of the Jay Gruden tree.

On the plus side.. young assistants with other teams should be killing each other to get to the Rams.

I don't care that they steal our assistants, but they shouldn't be able to interview anyone until the playoffs are OVER.

This I agree with this unless that team is eliminated. Got to imagine it takes away some focus for the soon to be former team.

I like Cooley and was excited when they added him from the University of Akron, I could see him being the CB coach and bring in another guy to be the Safety coach like they did with Pleasant & Evero, but you and I have also communicated about former Bear DC Sean Desai as the Secondary Coach.

Now most likely Desai joins Fangio where ever he ends up, but if the Rams can move quickly this is a guy I would love to see them add to the coaching staff.

Don't rule out Weddle coming on either.

I’ve learned to not speculate on McVay potential coaching hires too much.

McVay has done a phenomenal job of hiring assistant coaches and his record speaks for itself.
